Thelma.

What do you think? It's definitely original these days. Not sure it's shaken off the cobwebs yet though!

I raise you Norah.
And Winifred.

For boys, their husbands Reginald and Vincent would do nicely.

Ruby amber and jade. Might as well call them traffic light and be done with it.

I think that was the joke

@Peering2021

I also like Gloria. There was a Gloria on Dickinson's Real Deal earlier I think that's swaying me.

For the record I am in m 40s and have two massive teens not planning another but am just lately broody. I hope it's OK to post here.

😬😬😬😬

Every single one of the 'well, that won't be coming back' names are ones I deal with on a daily basis (teenagers).

I wonder if Mavis will ever make a comeback? 🤔
I don't really know.
MaliceOrgan · 10/07/2021 01:24

I know a Maude in her 20s.

You don't get Susans or Carols any more

Ariela · 10/07/2021 01:41

Edgar. The youngest Edgar I know is about 60.
Peter is totally out of fashion, as is David.

For girls Janette was popular in the 1960s/70s, likewise Jaqueline which was Jacqui or Jackie. Margaret, Barbara, Alison, Dorothy, Deirdre, Judith all were common then but not so popular now. Daphne I've not heard either.

Caspianberg · 10/07/2021 05:40

I know an Edgar, he’s around 10/11 years old

hawkehurstgang · 10/07/2021 09:11

How about Pamela and Rita?

Comedycook · 10/07/2021 09:33

How about Pamela and Rita?
Love both of these

You missed Angela and Sandra…

DD is 16 and has two girls in her year called Jennifer. There's also a Kirsty, but names like Kirsten/Kirsty have never really been unfashionable in Scotland.

Think we'll be waiting a long time for Edna or Brenda to make a comeback.

Thelma and Hilda now officially the next cool names 😁

dementedma · 20/07/2021 11:21

I know a baby Pearl - quite unusual round here
And also a new baby Nancy.

Next baby boy due will be Daniel, so quite traditional there. Don’t know any other babies.

Jackie is awful. Hope it doesn’t make a comeback.

DahliaMacNamara · 20/07/2021 11:41

I was thinking Paula/Pauline and Tina the other day. You don't hear of many little Donnas either.

PaulaPetunia · 20/07/2021 11:45

I think Thora is more acceptable.
Thyra appeals to me too.
