Back again!! We now have a top three! Baby girl due in five weeks! No negativity to any of the names please as she will more then likely end up as one, I do know they aren't to everyone's taste. But our current list is;

Juniper (my absolute favourite)
Pepper (husband adores this name)
Nessie (we both quite like)

Just opinion on which you would go for please as I said no negativity on any, took us forever to agree on three 😂

Thank you ladies xxx

Love Juniper nn June, Juni/Juno. Don't like Pepper and not keen on Nessie.

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 15:48

@AlmostSummer21 I'm due 18th June x

Juniper is a bit of a mouthful but I do like pip/pippin as a nickname.

The Loch Ness monster connotation doesn't phase me, and I am from Scotland! 😂 living in England now.

Pepper, I've always said to husband it sounds like Peppa, but it is a different name, and people don't think that with Sam, or Dora etc, actually like Dora 😂

It's just too difficult! We have 33 names on our list 😂 but they are our fave x

Pepper or nessie are the best 2 i would go pepper over those 2 though

AlmostSummer21 · 04/05/2021 15:52

X posted!!

If you like Pip - what about Philippa?

joystir59 · 04/05/2021 15:55

Juniper if I had to use one of your three. And I would call my daughter Pip full-time.

FolornLawn · 04/05/2021 15:57

I love Dora.

Standrewsschool · 04/05/2021 15:57

Juniper

AlmostSummer21 · 04/05/2021 15:57

Oh & the little Dora I know (now 7) is SO SO fed up if being asked where Boots is & if she has her back pack.

Sam's do get fireman references hurled at them.

Several other kids with 'character' names too, it's inevitable.

AlmostSummer21 · 04/05/2021 16:00

@77kidsandcounting

None sorry

She will get picked on with any of these names

Why? Just why? - what do you get out of being horrible?

AnxiousAnnie86 asked for no negative feedback as one of them is most likely to end up being her daughters name.

Could you not have just closed the thread?

myfuckingfreezer · 04/05/2021 16:01

If you want the nickname Pip why not go with Pippa/Phillipa/Piper

SweetPetrichor · 04/05/2021 16:04

Juniper is the best of the three. If you want the ‘pip’ nickname, I think Philippa would be a better choice for the formal name.

Pepper is too odd and will scream peppa pig! And Nessie is a monster.

Crowsaregreat · 04/05/2021 16:06

Preference - Nessie, Juniper, Pepper in that order.

How about Nettie instead? Like Annette. Good old-school name, got to be due for revival soon!

ILoveShula · 04/05/2021 16:08

Vanessa nn Ness is nice
then Juniper, a bit too naturey for my taste.
Pepper - save it for a pet. Too similar to Peppa Pig.

Why not opt for Pippa/Philippa and use Pepper as a nn?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 16:08

@AlmostSummer21 thank you.

I know this was why I asked for no negative feedback, one of these is likely to be our daughter, 🙄 I don't like a lot of names I see on here but I wouldn't comment.

Oh I bet she does, but it's also really really nice name 😂 my name is a traditional boys name! And I've always had comments but It reallt doesn't bother me now! I just laugh it off and say "original" when comments are made. I do feel also she will grow up In a world where names are all different! My friends a reception teacher and they have all sorts of names passing through! Her middle name with be Amelia, and her surname a very traditional British surname :) x

Some people just love to be mean unfortunately....

@myfuckingfreezer we know a dog close to family called piper, which is a shame as I did like it. Also husbands best friend is called Phil and I'd never here end of Phillipa, but mainly just because I really really like the name juniper x

Juniper

AlmostSummer21 · 04/05/2021 16:19

You love Juniper unless DH really objects then go for it!

If she gets fed up with it, she can always go by 'Gin' 🤣

I have a nice name & it has a nice story to it being chosen, but a lot of English accents make it sound not so nice. And most people shorten it to the 1st syllable which doesn't make a real name. It's a shame, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

She'll be gorgeous whatever name you choose. Deeply envious of the newborn snuggles.

My god daughters baby is due the same day as yours. But we think she's going to early June and sadly as she lives overseas I'm not going to get to see her for a long time. (In contrast to her mum, I was cuddling her before she was an hour old! Good times.

Hope the birth goes well, come back & let us know how it went & what name you chose! x

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 16:22

@AlmostSummer21 thank you so much! I will come back and update! Good luck to your daughter too xxxxx

BeefSupreme · 04/05/2021 16:24

Are you sure there aren’t any other names you like?

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 16:26

@BeefSupreme yeah we had a list of 33 at one point but these are the only ones we even come close to agreeing on. All the others we either just think are "ok" or we don't agree

I like Juniper and Pepper. Juniper is my favourite. I think Nessie sounds like a nickname for Vanessa.

BigPyjamas · 04/05/2021 16:29

Erm, well...

As a Scot I would struggle with Nessie. So I'd say Juniper.

As a parent of a child that watches Peppa Pig I would struggle with Pepper. So I'd definitely say Juniper.

Hope that isn't negative. Trying to be factual to explain my thinking

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 04/05/2021 16:31

Juniper is gorgeous!! I also really like Pepper, less keen on Nessie, probably because I'm scottish and just keep thinking of the loch Ness monster!

CroydianSlip · 04/05/2021 16:33

Juniper/Juno

AnxiousAnnie86 · 04/05/2021 16:33

In all honestly I did worry Nessie was a bit of a nickname. Hmmm

Peppa pig still not putting me off Pepper 😂 it's a different name. I do understand it sounds similar, and people will constantly go "Peppa? Like the pig, and yes I have a daughter already who watched Peppa pig till I wanted to scratch my eyes out 😂

Juniper I can't find any bad associations with it, I think it's a beautiful summery name for a baby born in June, and I also like the nicknames that come from it.

Only issue is, I can't sway my bloody husband away from Pepper 😂😂
