Ha ha ha OP, no Raymond doesn't work on a girl - it would be cruel imo. Stick with similar (but feminine) Rosamond - that's vintage too but not strange/teasable like Raymond on a girl. Or just call her Rae - quite modern but cool, and not that dissimilar to retro Mae.

Raymonde - with the E - is a girl’s name. And Raymonda is too - made famous by the ballet.

It's a bad enough name for a middle aged man let alone a baby girl.

My daughter Dereque has had no trouble with her name, nor has her best friend Ianne.

I'm not assuming I can control how other people pronounce the name and won't be crying if people get it wrong.
I just think it's cool and modern.

Since 1880, 632 girls were named Raymond in the USA. It is more usual as a boys name but it can be a girl's name too.

I like Raymonde, the French name. I don't see why you couldn't use that. Just be prepared that you may have to explain and spell it out, but then you have to do that with all sorts of more common names.
