Pronounced Ray Monde
Anyone like this name?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Markies · 11/01/2021 15:26

Rayann - even that’s an ugly name.

Viviennemary · 11/01/2021 15:27
Xmas Biscuit
Scarby9 · 11/01/2021 15:33

It is beginning to make some sense now.
If you spell it Raymonde, which might also help with the pronunciation, then it is a French girl's name.

What about Colin? But col-LYNNE ?

SoupDragon · 11/01/2021 15:40

Is that not common in the US though? Louis thomlinsons baby mumma is called Bryann/Bryanna jugwith

She is Briana. Not Brian.

PattyPan · 11/01/2021 15:42

@Markies

Rayann - even that’s an ugly name.
Sounds like an American pronouncing rayon!
Shutupyoutart · 11/01/2021 15:58

Yeah sorry op i dont like it either how about some other similar sounding names, raven, Rayne, ramona, rae, rachel, racheal.

StiffyByng1 · 11/01/2021 16:09

This has to be a joke.

EreLongDoneDoDoesDid · 11/01/2021 16:13

mammmamia · 11/01/2021 16:14

This thread reminds me of the one where the OP wanted people to suggest “long versions” for Hugo. She got very cross at people’s suggestions but it was HILARIOUS

Snog · 11/01/2021 16:26

Where oh where are the gender fluid lovers of retro when you need them.

OP posts:
Nicecupofcoco · 11/01/2021 16:29

Sorry no op. X

SoupDragon · 11/01/2021 16:33

@Snog

Where oh where are the gender fluid lovers of retro when you need them.
It has nothing to do with "gender fluid lovers of retro", it's just a bad name.
Peridot1 · 11/01/2021 16:39

I knew a French-Canadian Raymonde. Can’t say I ever thought of it as Raymond as it sounded quite different.

Also know a Rae which I like.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 11/01/2021 16:40

600 people in 140 years. There's a good reason for that. Grin

HeronLanyon · 11/01/2021 16:41

Have seen ballet ‘Raymonda’ only time ever heard it.
It’s a no from me.

DelphiniumBlue · 11/01/2021 16:42

Well if girls can be named Stanley and Sidney and Parker ( Yes m'lady), then why not? Other than it's not a nice name, even for a boy, and as another poster said, she won't thank you for it. Tbh, I thought you were joking to start with. Especially with the RayMONDE, sounds like a fake French hairdresser out of a CarryOn film. Don't do it!

FelicityPike · 11/01/2021 16:43

Wow! GrinHmmBiscuit

Hoppinggreen · 11/01/2021 16:44

gender fluid lovers of retro is a great name for a band though

Neighneigh · 11/01/2021 16:44

I don't have the strength to rtfl but has anyone said Life on Mars yet?

pooopypants · 11/01/2021 16:44

I prefer 'Stanley' but pronounced in a my-parents-hate-me way.

Jeeeeeesus

Whenwillow · 11/01/2021 16:45

Yes I agree with @SoupDragon
The gender fluid thing and names deserves a whole thread all of its own!
You can call your baby anything you like, of course, just don't be surprised if people don't like your choice.

RusholmeRuffian · 11/01/2021 16:46

@LunaNorth

I’m hearing pronounced by Boycie off Only Fools and Horses.

“Raymonde

Exactly this!
Saharafordessert · 11/01/2021 16:51

This thread has been highly entertaining!
OP, you are nuts!!

percheron67 · 11/01/2021 16:53
