Lolz.

DuckonaBike · 11/01/2021 13:14

We all need a laugh in these dark times but I wouldn’t actually name your daughter this.

Toasty280 · 11/01/2021 13:14

Raylene?

Iamthewombat · 11/01/2021 13:14

I prefer Reg.

Soubriquet · 11/01/2021 13:14

It’s awful.

Anyone who sees it isn’t going to stress the last syllable but think you were wishing for a boy instead

Rayna or Ramona is better

YukoandHiro · 11/01/2021 13:15

@Snog Nobody would actually pronounce it the way you desired though.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 11/01/2021 13:15

Please don't do this to your daughter

RubyFakeLips · 11/01/2021 13:15

I like boys names for girls. My DD has a traditionally boys name.

However, I don't think you're going to be able to communicate the stress on the second syllable easily.

Its controversial on too many fronts. Either pick a typically girls name and change the pronunciation or use a boys name but keep the sound simple.

I'm reaching here but could you just make it a different name to create the same sound, Taymond for example?

viques · 11/01/2021 13:16

It would only work if you registered the child as

RaymondpronouncedRaymondewiththeemphasisonthesecondsyllable

At least it’s unique .

Toddlerteaplease · 11/01/2021 13:18

I knew of a nun called Sr Raymunda

StacySoloman · 11/01/2021 13:18

Raymonde is a genuine girls' name.

Snog · 11/01/2021 13:20

Since 1880, 632 girls were named Raymond in the USA. It is more usual as a boys name but it can be a girl's name too.

I’m hearing pronounced by Boycie off Only Fools and Horses.

“Raymonde“

Scarby9 · 11/01/2021 13:22

Ramona Mondeo maybe - nickname Raymondo if you are desperate.
Then the poor girl has something to fall back on in later life if she prefers.

theantsgomarchin · 11/01/2021 13:23

Taxi for the OP

JorisBonson · 11/01/2021 13:24

If the 632 female Raymonds jumped off a bridge would you do it too?

You're lining that poor kid up for a lifetime of teasing.

Well obviously you’re dead set on it

Your baby, your choice. But it’s awful

Hoppinggreen · 11/01/2021 13:24

I like Geoffrey, but pronounced the female way

Laurendelight · 11/01/2021 13:24

Maybe Rae Mandy?

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 11/01/2021 13:25

Awful.

Ramona? (Otherwise known as....)

RubyFakeLips · 11/01/2021 13:25

Yes, and I'm sure there have been a fair few Mr Ben Dovers since 1880, it can be a name, but its better when it isn't...

You are setting her up for a lifetime of double bubbled inconvenience.

Also realistically, as soon as she starts school this will just become Ray, so why bother with the second syllable bollocks.

user1493494961 · 11/01/2021 13:26

She won't thank you.

JorisBonson · 11/01/2021 13:26
