My other half and I have loved the name Elvie long before I was pregnant. I'm due a baby girl early January and this name was locked in, we had even started calling my bump Elvie. Unfortunately the other night I stumbled across a pelvic floor toner and breast pump brand with the same name. I'm absolutely gutted and not sure we can call her this anymore, but no other name we like comes close :( Can I have your opinions please?

It sounds like LV the insurance company or will be misheard as elfy a lot.

I read this thread the other day, totally forgot about it and then actually met an Elvie today. Despite having read this thread, the brand didn’t cross my mind.

Her name suited her, it’s not a name I would choose however that doesn’t make it a bad name.

First thing that comes to my mind is the breast pump.. What about Elva? You could use Elvie as a nickname?

I think the name is really pretty! You could always go with a longer name, with Elvie for short if you're that worried, but I think you should just go for it! My friend's daughter has daycare with a little girl called Evelyn who goes by Elvie and I'd never once thought of the breast pump! Grin

It sounds like initials - LV (insurance company or Louis Vuitton) rather than a name to me.
And slightly like a shampoo or something to do with elves. Sorry...
But, your decision at the end of the day - nobody else’s!
