Please please say I can have Clementine

Hi MNers

A few years ago I posted asking whether I should name my baby Clementine. The answers were a resounding no.
I'm now back again, because I clearly can't take a hint.
So...our surname is Harrowdyne. Can I use Clementine (ending 'tyne' ) or am I once again deluding myself?
Feel free to hand me a grip if I need it.
Thanks!!

I love the name Clementine but hate the nickname Clemmy as it reminds me of clammy so I abandoned it, but your surname wouldn't put me off - people rarely say both names together in real life.

I love it.

How about Clémence?

If you and the child's other parent adore Clementine, just do it! I think people worry too much about how names "go together" when people will rarely notice then she'll just become Clementine or Clem to them

I think it's lovely @IdentifyasTired and definitely not pretentious

You're right Op you can never please everyone. Whatever name you put on here you'd have a range of views, positive and negative.

Plus remember once someone gets to know someone, you don't really think of the actual name anymore you think of the person. I love the name Beatrice because the 2 I know are so lovely. If I actually focused on the name itself I maybe wouldn't like it so much.

Honestly you like the name, you should just use it. It'll just be her name. If you're not pretentious people then the name won't sound pretentious to people who know you. It'll just be your daughters' name
