Hi fellow mums! I'm new to the site, not too sure how it all works LOL
I have always been a massive Oasis fan (sorry Blur fans) and they have influenced me and inspired me throughout my entire life, so when i found out i was having two little twin boys, i thought it would be amazing to name them after the Gallagher brothers! I thought it was a sweet idea, but people seem to frown and laugh thinking it's a joke!! Have to say it does hurt a bit. All the best, Catherine xx

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

If it were 1996 I’d get it. It would be naff but it would be current.

It’s a bit 25 years ago now.

Hence - pisstake.

lockeddownandcrazy · 29/04/2020 20:04

cheesy but your choice. Better than Destiny or Neveah or the new 'triple barrels' that are coming around.

Greggers2017 · 29/04/2020 20:06

@JohnFinlaysNewTeeth no but you can name them after something that means something to you 😂

Those are lovely names OP

ladymalfoy · 29/04/2020 20:10

Scritti and Polliti

Kickanxietyinthebeanbag · 29/04/2020 20:11

I would not of realised that was why you named them that

elQuintoConyo · 29/04/2020 20:17

Millie and Vanilli if they were b/g twins Grin

ducksback · 29/04/2020 20:17

Scritti and Polliti

A blast from the past! The Word Girl - classic!

ducksback · 29/04/2020 20:18

And in the same vein..

Prefab and Sprout!

I'll get my coat...

L0bstersLass · 29/04/2020 20:26

Of course people laugh and think it's a joke.

You've said that you "expected a little giggle here and there but a lot of people are a little ott with the comments".

It's not the end of the world but it does look like you misjudged it.
It'll be character building. They'll be fine.

Their nice names and so what you named them after a favourite band (although I was blur so you chose the shit band obvs! Grin)

Just don't call a third Bonehead ShockGrinGrin

LouLouLoo · 29/04/2020 20:54

It's not the names, I like them both individually. I wouldn't have used them for twins though.

Aside from the teasing you're getting being predictable, it's the fact that their sibling relationship is terrible!

category12 · 29/04/2020 20:55

Name them after 2 brothers who seem to be totally miserable fuckers who hate each other? Excellent. Grin

unlikelytobe · 29/04/2020 20:55

Anyone called Noel or Noelle should be born near Christmas! Oh, Noel Gallagher was born in May... no,no,no.

ooooohbetty · 29/04/2020 20:58

Tell people you are calling them Noel and Liam. The connection isn't as obvious. In ten years time no one will bat an eyelid.

JKScot4 · 29/04/2020 21:03

Many moons ago I knew twins called Kylie & Jason 🤣 also Krystle & Alexis 🤣

finallychangedmyusername · 29/04/2020 22:09

I'd say you've got to roll with it, OP. Grin

Nah, seriously, it's ok OP, they're not bad names and people making the link isn't the worst thing.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 30/04/2020 00:14

Mercedes is a bona fide girls’ name.

As is Portia, if you spell it that way.

averytiredmom · 30/04/2020 00:21

Well they aren’t awful names but I wouldn’t have done it myself

TeetotalKoala · 30/04/2020 16:21

or the new 'triple barrels' that are coming around.

What fresh hell is this?!

Umnoway · 30/04/2020 17:04

Liam and Noel are pretty mainstream names tbf so I’d think many people won’t make this link, I’m sure their peers won’t.
