Brother to Everest

Hi all
I have a 2 yo named Everest and we love the name. We call him Evi (Ev-ee) for short.
I’m looking for another unique boy name that’s cool like everest but not one of the growingly popular cool names. Needs to be less known.
We were thinking of Oslo (ozzy as a nn). What do you think of that? My husband worries it sounds like a dogs name though I’ve never heard of a dog named Oslo. Is it too weird?

Any thoughts or other ideas that are unique and strong like everest?

ivfgottostaypositive · 18/04/2020 12:07

Ummm yeah no. To neither but it's too late for Everest

Oslo sounds like you are trying too hard and people will forever think that is where he was conceived

And to be honest I can't decide whether it sounds chavvy and downmarket or "wanna be" upper class/new money pretentious

You need to step away from the cute "unique" "different" names and imagine your child as an adult in professional job

Ranulph shortened to Ran perhaps.

Blursula · 18/04/2020 12:11

Not keen on Oslo if I’m honest - think it’s the nn Ozzy that maybe puts me off. Some other suggestions:

Gulliver nn Gully
Sullivan nn Sully
Zephyr nn Zephy
Alfinn Finlo nn Finn
Atlas or Atticus nn Atty
Alexei nn Lex
Xavian nn Xavi
Merlin
Ferris
Marty
Odin nn Ovie
Ari
Avery nn Avie
Coen

Isn't Oslo the name of the brother in law from Keeping up Appearances with Hyacinth Bucket?

Blursula · 18/04/2020 12:12

That was meant to say Alfinn or Finlo btw!

Ignore the haters.

anappleadaykeeps · 18/04/2020 12:12

I like the Gulliver suggestion
