Brother to Everest

Hi all
I have a 2 yo named Everest and we love the name. We call him Evi (Ev-ee) for short.
I’m looking for another unique boy name that’s cool like everest but not one of the growingly popular cool names. Needs to be less known.
We were thinking of Oslo (ozzy as a nn). What do you think of that? My husband worries it sounds like a dogs name though I’ve never heard of a dog named Oslo. Is it too weird?

Any thoughts or other ideas that are unique and strong like everest?

Zion is a gorgeous name that has great religious significance to Rastafarians and Jews so think carefully about it's appropriateness if you consider it.
My father would consider it cultural misappropriation and racism for a white British child to be called Zion. (I am not saying he is right)

I don't understand why everyone assumes he's named after a mountain. That was not my first thought. Lots of names would go with Everest:

  • Anglian
  • Safestyle
  • Neglass
  • Velux
  • Wickes

Really? Out of curiosity, what was your first thought?

Lweji · 18/04/2020 16:38

Oh, sorry. I get it. Windows.

donquixotedelamancha · 18/04/2020 16:38

Did you read my name suggestions?

BobbinThreadbare123 · 18/04/2020 16:40

@donquixotedelamancha in that case, can I add St Helens to your list? Classy, you see.

namechangegamechange2 · 18/04/2020 16:46

Im with the poster who said it's sounds like a chavvy person trying to sound middle class.

I still can't get my head around a child having a name on the birth certificate which must never be used, just a cutesy nickname instead. Then I'm nearly 50 so what do I know? 😀

donquixotedelamancha · 18/04/2020 16:46

Two for one. Like it.

If I am wrong and he really is named after the mountain then there really can be only one choice of name for his brother: Sandor.

namechangegamechange2 · 18/04/2020 16:48

Ah St. Helens glass, has the class!! 🎵

Double glazing maybe?
I'm struggling to see why the mountain wouldn't be your first thought.

(Sorry OP, I know laughing about your babies name is pretty rude)

Hippofrog · 18/04/2020 16:56
