Hi all
I have a 2 yo named Everest and we love the name. We call him Evi (Ev-ee) for short.
I’m looking for another unique boy name that’s cool like everest but not one of the growingly popular cool names. Needs to be less known.
We were thinking of Oslo (ozzy as a nn). What do you think of that? My husband worries it sounds like a dogs name though I’ve never heard of a dog named Oslo. Is it too weird?

Any thoughts or other ideas that are unique and strong like everest?

Fit-the-best? Although I don’t really like hyphenated names.
Helsinki? Hell for short?

Wheresthebiffer2 · 18/04/2020 13:26

Rupert (Roo/Rupe)

fuckinghellthisshit · 18/04/2020 13:30

Oslo is fine. I have been watching the Disney series and everyone seems to have a capital city name - London is especially popular!

Zeno
A saint's name

LizzieLoafer · 18/04/2020 13:36

Well thanks for putting me straight Blursula

I do know 3 dogs called Ozzy though so I'd stick to Oslo.

cacaca · 18/04/2020 13:38

Kilimanjaro is your only reasonable option.

AndyMurraysCat · 18/04/2020 13:39

Kangchenjunga

CuppaZa · 18/04/2020 13:42

Some of the comments made me laugh Grin
However, Everest isn’t bad...c’mon, there’s a few repeat posters that come up with the most horrific, cringeworthy, clown names I’ve ever come up with. There’s one that keeps coming back, like she can’t name her own baby without MM approval Confused

I don’t have any suggestions OP, but just want led to say that I quite like Everest Smile

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 18/04/2020 13:43

Dew, as in Mountain Dew. Dewey as nn?

CuppaZa · 18/04/2020 13:43

Also, sorry, I like Oslo. Not shortened to Ozzy though!

midwesteaster · 18/04/2020 13:43

Monro might work?
Mountain themed and also a surname.

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 18/04/2020 13:44

(climb every mountain) Ford (every stream)

Ford.

sucha · 18/04/2020 13:45

First thought was Mount... but then I thought one of the other Paw patrol pups maybe

Lllot5 · 18/04/2020 13:45

@Staypositivepeople

RaininSummer · 18/04/2020 13:46

Nn Jag or Jagz
Breton nn Bret or Bretz
Sven nn venzy

RevIMJolly · 18/04/2020 13:52

What about Goatfell?

Either ‘Goat’ or ‘Fell’ for nn?

It’s not a big mountain but if you call him that even the nick names fit in with the hilly theme.

1forAll74 · 18/04/2020 13:57

Why would you choose a name, and then use a shortened version of it.

IHaveAMagicBean · 18/04/2020 13:57

Let’s just hope that poor sodding “Everest” never has to wear glasses at school!
Everest double glazing...

.etc 🤪🤪🤪

BaroleCaskin · 18/04/2020 13:59

Ben - ( Ben Nevis?)

LarkDescending · 18/04/2020 13:59

I know a (young human) Oslo who seems happy with his unusual name. It’s not my style but fits well with yours. I really don’t like Ozzy though.

TheVanguardSix · 18/04/2020 14:04

Finlo was mentioned on page 1 of this thread. That's a great name. And it's a real name, not made up. It's Manx.
Finlo and Everest sounds great.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 18/04/2020 14:27

OK mountain names.....
Ben literally means mountain. You could use the Gaelic spelling of Beinn for extra points.
Or go Scots with Craig. (means "rock")
Crag as an alternative (bit more edgy? )
I knew a Crag in my punk days (his mum called him Craig though!)

chunkyrun · 18/04/2020 14:33

Ocean
Hilltop
Forrest
Crag
Glen
Canal
Field

Toddlerteaplease · 18/04/2020 14:48

Helvellyn
Scarfell
Catbells
Snowdon.

You can't be serious surely!
