So with the announcement that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting her 3rd child, what are your thoughts on baby names? I know it's early days...

Alexandra

Or

Frederick

For me...

I'm going for Richard for a boy, and Richmal for a girl.

Andrewofgg · 05/09/2017 12:03

Hercules for a boy and Pollyanna for a girl.

Or vice versa.

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 12:30

Love Lottie, Lexie and George but Princess Persephone is still my favorite

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 05/09/2017 14:21

Has there ever been a Princess Agatha? Or Ethel? Or Doris?
Prince Rupert?

Mumsnut · 05/09/2017 14:30

Mary

Edward

Appleyard29 · 05/09/2017 15:46

@meanapparently I doubt she calls Charlotte Lottie.

Mrsknackered · 05/09/2017 15:57

Frances Mary or Frederick John

OlderGolder · 05/09/2017 16:22

It won't be Arthur. Arthur is Middle Class {shudder}

OlderGolder · 05/09/2017 16:23

Mary or Frederick would be good choices.

What are Sophie and Edward's children called? Is it James and Alice?

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 16:28

Louise and James

gillybombilly · 05/09/2017 16:39

Alice Elizabeth Mary

Richard Philip Arthur

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 16:42

Why wouldst Kate call Charlotte Lottie? Is it too middle class or common?? Confused

Llanbobl · 05/09/2017 16:43

Haven't Edward and Sophie bagged Louise and James - so it won't be those as first names.

Sniggering at Prince Charles' middle name being described as "middle class". King Arthur (mythical) and Prince Arthur - Henry VIII's elder brother does lend it a somewhat royal connection......

Don't think they'd chose a name like Helena which can be pronounced in different ways

Think Arthur and David will be involved for a boy.
For a girl, Henriette/Henrietta .....Matilda would be fabulous, but it'll be a safe name like Sophie/Sophia, maybe Louisa as a middle name.

Who knows.........??

indulgentberries · 05/09/2017 16:44

She probably calls them Georgie and Charlie

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 16:45

Yup. See the post above mine from Older

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 16:47

Given Charles I'd assume Lottie is more likely that. Charlie. I'm confused by Apple's assertion

Is think Sophie unlikely as that's Edwards wife

Appleyard29 · 05/09/2017 16:54

@SleepingStandingUp quite frankly, I know 7 Charlottes and they're all known by that name. I just don't think she would shorten it, IMO. It's 2 syllables.

SleepingStandingUp · 05/09/2017 17:10

Mine was shortened from a 2 syllable name to a 2 syllable "younger sounding" name. I'm not saying she does or doesn't. But I'd be surprised if George doesn't and if it doesn't stick

HoratioNightboy · 05/09/2017 17:48

Ooh, Cleopatra, Malcolm would be a fab choice - it's a royal name in Scotland and he'd be Malcolm the 5th if he ever became king! Grin

Crosses fingers...

WaxOnFeckOff · 05/09/2017 18:08

Why would George shorten Charlotte to Charlie if no-one else does?

If everyone calls her Charlotte then that's what he'll call her.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 05/09/2017 18:18

Probably more likely to call her Lottie I would have thought.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 05/09/2017 18:20

Oops. I see other people have already said that.
Isn't there already a Lord Frederick Windsor, or did I make that up? Off to google.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 05/09/2017 18:22

There is. He is the son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

Androidsdreamofelectricsheep · 05/09/2017 18:29

Edward VIII was known to his family as David, so that might not be in the running.
