ONS 2015 baby names - predictions

The ONS data will be released later than usual this year, on 2 September.

Any predictions? Big rises or falls?

Ava and Isla seem really popular round here for girls and Noah and Jacob for boys.

Boys risers - Hugo, Toby, Leo, teddy,

Girls risers- Clara (the new Ava) Elodie, Eliza, Elouise, Eliza (the new Ellie/ eleanor)

Girls fallers - Ellie/ Eleanor, Amalie/ Amelie (fad is over), Isla (now is Orla)

I don't know whether it's just a regional thing, but Austin seems to be super popular 'round my way. So much so, there will be two in DD's reception class. Admittedly, that makes them born in 2011/2012, but I would not be surprised to find it's a climber.

Fin and Fletcher will be huge risers for boys. Sick of hearing these names tbh!

Not too sure about girls, I don't know many people who have younger girls!

I'm so surprised Emily is currently number 4, I think of it as quite 90s and don't know any small Emilys!

River definitely rising, as is Reuben.

Also Henry!!! Henry Henry Henry. We are drowning in Henrys.

DS was born in 2015 and 4 of his peers are called Henry (and his middle name is Henry!).

I think Ariana and Austin will have moved into the top 100, and think Willow will move from the 50s to the 30s.

Apologies - Austin is already in the top 100! In that case I think it will have moved up from 80-something.

Aurora and Aria will shoot up the charts. See a lot of baby Imogens and Oscars they must be very high, surely Olivia & Oliver will drop a place or two.

I can't see anyone mention Sophia or Sofia - I know at least ten under two and a good few more under 6! It's a very pretty name and very popular round these parts.

Now that spelling variants are combined, top boy's name will be Mohammed.

AuntJane are the ONS introducing combined spellings?!
