The ONS data will be released later than usual this year, on 2 September.

Any predictions? Big rises or falls?

I prefer the more uncommon names which won't be on the chart, I know they aren't going to be unique as there will be at least one more person but it's nice to be different. For example: I quite like Avarie, it's a nice little twist on Ava and is uncommon as it's a variant on Avery!

i cant move for babies named Arlo these days!

Fulltimemummy85 · 01/09/2016 16:10

I don't know what the obsession is for wanting a name not in the top 100. We chose the names we like, not overly popular not rare, we don't really care x

GrassW1dow · 01/09/2016 16:36

you can't move in my nursery for Sebastians.....

miwelaisjacydo · 01/09/2016 17:54

Logan very popular round these parts

Idliketobeabutterfly · 01/09/2016 18:08

My son is going into nursery but here lots of Rubys and Finn/Finlay/Phinias.

duskonthelawn · 01/09/2016 19:04

My DDs nickname is common but I have never known anyone with her full name. I don't even think it's on the list!

JuneBalloon · 01/09/2016 19:50

What, no Charlotte?????

ample · 01/09/2016 21:17

I think there will be a rise for Esme, Freya, Lily, Grace, Annabel/Annabelle, Sylvie, Charlotte.
And a new spot for Darcy/Darcie if not already in top 100.

Not sure about boys.

MarklahMarklah · 01/09/2016 21:18

Someone may have already suggested it but Balonz.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 01/09/2016 21:27

Oh no! I named my daughter Beatrice but I've never heard of another around us. It's my greatgrandmothers name and I've always loved it.

ample · 01/09/2016 21:28

River..Skye..

Penny too.

Yep, Amelie will still be way up there Confused

ample · 01/09/2016 21:32

And Elsie. I've heard it called in local parks, shops etc.

thatsn0tmyname · 01/09/2016 21:34

Lots of Alfies and Archies here.

SerenDippitee · 01/09/2016 21:49

Someone may have already suggested it but Balonz.

If combined spellings are considered then Balonz could very well topple Mohammed.

I reckon Charlotte will be top 5.

GrassW1dow · 01/09/2016 22:37

Evie .... must be...surely

akorda · 02/09/2016 07:36

Toby, Teddy, Theo and Ruben risers for boys.

For girls
Sophia top 5 now? Think Beatrice, Clara and Constance will be risers.

splendide · 02/09/2016 07:55

I know a couple of Alfies, a couple of Archies, and an Arnie and an Albie.

NapQueen · 02/09/2016 08:15

Today is the day!

AmyC86 · 02/09/2016 08:34

#excited!!

Still got my money on Fin/Fletcher being at the top for boys.

Charlotte will also be a good riser!

IceLemonGin · 02/09/2016 08:48

I think Arthur may be one that's on the rise. I've met 3 in baby groups. Interested to see where my daughter's name is in the list!

MadrigalElectromotive · 02/09/2016 08:56

What time is it published?

Theresomethingaboutdairy · 02/09/2016 08:56

I think for boys that Henry will possibly make the top 10 this year and.....Teddy! Girls names will probably be the usual vowel heavy names, maybe with the addition of Emma, Beatrice and Amelie.

megletthesecond · 02/09/2016 08:59

ordinary I am. DS's name seems to be on a slow climb, but he was out of the top 100 when named. DD was on a slow climb too but still way out of the top 100 when I last looked. I live in fear of their names being on gift shop toys Grin . (My name is common).
