What are unusual names that have stood out for you in your dc's class?

There is an Alaska which makes me smile every time I hear it and a Francesca and Emma which are nice because they are names that I hardly hear on children.

Oh I forgot - there is a 17 year old called Adonis down the road. Nice, polite lad, but skinny and spotty atm, so again the name seems a bit cruel! Perhaps he'll grow into it in 5 or 6 years time!

Dietcoke - I know preschool twins called Ellie-mai and Evie-mai too.

I used to teach a Beauty. Luckily for her she was very pretty, but it's a big risk. Feel sorry for Beau with a squint and spotty Adonis.

Liking this thread. Have had some good ideas though DS is vetoing them all.

My mum insists she went to school with Norah Bone and Annette Kertan, she isn't really one for pulling pranks so I assume she is telling the truth

I know an Artemis, Barnabas, Samara, Krystabelle and a Seraphine. All have born friends wit my DTs (aged 4)

In my time I have taught or known Smokiey-Jo (why choose either the ie or the y-have both!!!), Howard cox (say it with a flat NI accent!!!) and Gary baldie!!!

I met a Blaze recently at playgroup. Imho it just didn't suit him. I imagine a blaze to have dark hair (not sure why) and have real presence. This very sweet little boy had blond hair and was very quiet and shy. Maybe he'll grow into my random interpretation of it when he's older.....

I know a Harvest-who is known to her friends as Moon!

There was a little boy in my sons nursery class called J'dore, like the perfume. He was very sweet, and his name made me smile.

My sil lives in the states and at her nursery there's a Gordon Gordon and twins Cocoa Fuge and Teddy-Bear Williams. Very sweet names they have play dates often. In our nursery there is a little boy Madoc I love the name, he's so lovely and named after his Great Grandad.

Maybe Blaze was Blaise? This is the name of my local bishop.

Spell check fail, the little girl sil refers to is Cocoa Fudge, not Fuge very adorable.

We have a little Roosevelt. He's lovely. Everyone loves him.

Math 10 years ago, when I was pregnant with DC1 and teaching at a secondary school in Surrey, my year 10s gave me a list of the names they'd chosen :o for my baby - Blaze (spelt like that) was top of the boy's list and I thought it sounded like a horse's name . I guess a few of those kids may be parents now, so Blaze doesn't surprise me :o

There is the most gorgeous boy at my dc's school called zen - he's about 11 and always looks so happy and at peace with himself!

There's a boy in dd's class called ceasar, I feel like that's a big name for a little boy.

Yep Penguin-that's how it sounds with the NI accent!!!

My nephew went to school with an Ozzy White. Apparently the parents had never heard of it.
