What are unusual names that have stood out for you in your dc's class?

There is an Alaska which makes me smile every time I hear it and a Francesca and Emma which are nice because they are names that I hardly hear on children.

Joan. I imagined she'd be plump and wearing Bon Marche, but she's normal Grin

Vincent.

Maud

Oh so I was kind of saying it right, lovely name - slightly reminds me of subbuteo (no idea how you spell it, that game with the football men on a wobbly thing from the 70's)
Still love it though!

Crystal

HibiscusIsland - one of my dds told me last week she's going to have 4 children called Lucy, Peter, Edmund and Susan or if not kids they're definitely her names for her goldfish Smile.

I know a little Enzo, I always think of it as a lovely cheerful name, I also know an Autumn which is lovely when you say it out loud.

There's a boy at my sons nursery called Myles Davies. I know the jazz legend spelt his name with an i but every time I see his coat peg label I imagine a toddler playing the saxophone

Serenity and Alabama both make me smile...

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 08/10/2014 17:15

DS went to nursery with a Peggy, always made me smile.

Jean. Parents call her Jeannie. She's 10 and I've lived it since I first heard it.

Gina.

My daughter's daycare has a Cypress, Tytan, Tyson. Thea

Dovahkiin · 08/10/2014 18:12

Phoenix and Tiger - both tiny blonde boys. I truly live in the town that MN forgot...

moxon · 08/10/2014 18:16

Surely Cypress and Tytan are entertainment wrestlers?

HibiscusIsland · 08/10/2014 18:52

wiggles I think Edmund could suit a goldfish very well. Smile

HibiscusIsland · 08/10/2014 18:53

My daughter has a little Joan in her primary school. Soo cute!

hlc123 · 08/10/2014 18:53

Sahara

Devora · 08/10/2014 19:05

Not a child, but I have to share with you that I met a woman called Maud-Lynn. It makes me smile every time I remember it.

Devora · 08/10/2014 19:06

Joan and Jean are very cute names for little girls. Wish I'd thought of them.

Purpleflamingos · 08/10/2014 19:26

My dd is at nursery with a Brooklyn, Romeo and a Cruz.

moxon · 08/10/2014 19:35

Lol purple

Lindalehughes · 08/10/2014 20:12

I know a Stanley and used to know a Douglas. I love both those names.

NancyJones · 08/10/2014 20:13

Devora, I love both but ds1 is Jonathon known as jonny so Joan and Jean sounded too similar otherwise I would have seriously considered them for dd. The girl called Jeanie is in his class and I just think it sounds beautiful and classy yet so underused.

OpiesOldLady · 08/10/2014 20:20

Salem and Tate. Both boys.

BikeRunSki · 08/10/2014 20:30

I've mentioned him on here before, but I once worked with a Comfort Golightly. A huuuuge Nigerian man with such a delicate name!
