Have been inspired by this thread.

So which names have you only ever heard once?

Can I start of by saying I only know one of the following, all children:

Wolfgang but I do know a wolf too.
Paris
Waldon
Sapphire
Emerald
Troy
Leonie

As a teacher of 35 years I have come across some amazing, sometimes bizarre names but cant write them here in case I am recognised!
Some of the most interesting have been spelling variations eg a boy called Louise, girls called Dayzeee and Heavenleee, also some strange spelling with apostrophe instead of a vowel.

SnotandBothered · 22/01/2014 15:02

Esmanda
Pipsy
Seraphina
Lorca
StPaul
and....
Math Hmm

JiltedJohnsJulie · 22/01/2014 15:09

No, doesn't sound like the same Emerald. She is in her 30s and I haven't seen her for a bit so she could have moved.

Can't quite get my head around Poo and Pox.

We know a Bear too.

I don't know many children. DD's nursery class seems to have v boring names by contrast!

I have a friend whose name I've never heard anywhere else and which isn't on most name lists - Tamise.

DH is related to a small Tiger. Oh, and there's a Jolene at work. I bet she hates it.

BettyMacdonald · 22/01/2014 16:22

Apples I know a Fallon too! Her mum was a massive Dynasty fan. She has two siblings with very ordinary names, I think they should have carried on the theme and at least named the others Krystal and Blake Grin. I used to know a Tameila too.

stinkingbishop · 22/01/2014 16:22

There are some hilarious ones here! I have been FAR too conservative with my naming strategies!

I have known a:

Blaise (quite like that)
Thrush (yes, really)
Gilbertine
Cordelia
Gorse
Dante (who was suitably hellish)
Blessing
Candida (no relation to Thrush)
Unicorn (again, yes, really)
