Have been inspired by this thread.

So which names have you only ever heard once?

Can I start of by saying I only know one of the following, all children:

Wolfgang but I do know a wolf too.
Paris
Waldon
Sapphire
Emerald
Troy
Leonie

Am on labour ward. Midwife has told me about baby Enfys, Welsh for rainbow.

KoalaDownUnder · 02/08/2014 08:27

'She-Neil'??!

That's horrendous. I presume it's supposed to be pronounced like 'Chenille', but written like that, it looks as if the stress is on the first syllable: SHEE-neil. Like He-man.

China-Thursday - sounds like a John Lewis promotion!

AntiDistinctlyMinty · 02/08/2014 12:39

I always felt sorry for her; her older sisters had really run-of-the-mill names, then she got lumbered with that! She made everyone at school call her CT (like AJ) because she hated it.

Castlelough · 02/08/2014 22:31

Ha Koala I taught a Kiki. It began as a nickname for Ciara, but she was even registered at school as Kiki. It was the only thing she was known as!

MrsGiraffe12 · 02/08/2014 22:42

Jett

LizzieVereker · 02/08/2014 23:02

Fox (girl)
Twinkle (boy) (honest!)
Seren (girl)
Marvellous(girl - and she really is)
Kane (boy) horrid child
Storm (girl)

ClairDeLoon · 02/08/2014 23:33

I know a Seren and a Keron. I've only ever met one of each.

Today at work I heard Ambroise for a boy, and his sister Gwynevere. That was different, for sure.

Castlelough, this Kiki was on the birth certificate as Kiki! Quite unusual in Australia. She has two sisters and a brother with equally out-there names, which I won't put here as they're too identifying.

insanityscratching · 03/08/2014 09:10

Ace and Saracen, I think they may have been cousins.

AngryBeaver · 03/08/2014 09:19

Cane-lily

FinickityCoder · 04/08/2014 18:17

Chardonnay-Cerise

Les Beau. (Friends neice and I've only seen it written down so I'm hoping they pronounce it 'Lay Beau' but even so... Hmm )

Albertatata · 04/08/2014 20:10

Marvellous ( I used to work with her) - such a bloody great name, it makes me smile

Blackforestdonuts · 08/08/2014 21:36

I also know a Destiny and Desire!
Chanel

Blackforestdonuts · 08/08/2014 21:37

I forgot my favourite....Precious. She was a PA and it was so funny to hear her boss ask for things or thank her. Sort of like 'Darling' in Blackadder goes forth.

Blackforestdonuts · 08/08/2014 21:38

Cash.... he signed his name like this: Ca$h
