Have been inspired by this thread.

So which names have you only ever heard once?

Can I start of by saying I only know one of the following, all children:

Wolfgang but I do know a wolf too.
Paris
Waldon
Sapphire
Emerald
Troy
Leonie

There's a little girl at ds's school whose name when called out by the teacher, sounds like Vajazzli. I don't think it actually can be is that. And it's not spelt like that. But every time I hear it I think that it's actually a pretty name if only vajazzling hadn't made it into popular consciousness!

steppemum · 22/01/2014 11:53

I know Leonie and I didn't think it was that rare. And 2 Paris (both boys) and a Troy.

I know a lot of Leonies... it was quite popular in Australia when I was growing up.

IHeartKingThistle · 22/01/2014 12:08

Christine I had forgotten all about Chevron! He was a very naughty boy at my primary school. I wonder if it's the same one?!

I don't know any of many of the 'popular' names!

I marked scripts from a Lordy-Ann and a Sharkey though didn't know them personally

Egusta · 22/01/2014 12:44

oh that reminds me thegreylady that I once read a running magazine (I think a US one) where there was an interview with someone called Lady Sarah. That was her given (unhyphenated) name by her non-aristocratic parents.
