I need the best Scottish boys name in the world...

...to counteract the likelihood that his middle name will be -eek- Keith!!!

MN is after FIL (who is lovely, but whose name isn't, & who has no middle name!!).

First name needs to be Scottish as a family tradition. So I need the best, coolest, loveliest Scottish boy's name ever to distract from the awful MN!!

Thank you kindly. Really good ones please!!

howabout · 29/06/2011 20:23

Angus after Angus Young.

birdofthenorth · 29/06/2011 20:23

Duncan
Douglas
Fergus
Stewart

birdofthenorth · 29/06/2011 20:25

Angus is DH's favourite. Think it sounds silly with DD's name though.

Love Logan. Ross is good too but again sounds less good with DD's name.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 29/06/2011 20:29

Douglas. No contest. Or Ruaridh...

Yama · 29/06/2011 20:30

Alexander is Scottish (as well as from a few other countries).

BuntyCollocks · 29/06/2011 20:30

Fraser
Innes
Craig

Tillyscoutsmum · 29/06/2011 20:31

Fergus. Its my ds's name so it must be the best. Fact. We missed a trick with Keith though Wink

DoctorX · 29/06/2011 20:31

Bryce.

BuntyCollocks · 29/06/2011 20:31

I'll second Alexander, although I think it's technically more Greek, but I have an Alexander, and we're Scottish.

Kittyroo · 29/06/2011 20:32

Euan is best (not biased at all!) I like Hamish, Dougal, Murdo and Angus. Would have gone for Hamish myself but OH wouldn't let me.

birdofthenorth · 29/06/2011 20:32

Donald is brother & late Grandpa's name. I would love to use it again but DH distinctly unkeen.

Love Gregor but is close friend's fiancé which might seem a bit strange. It's on the list though!

Grieg sounds Scandinavian to me?

Is your DD called Agnes? Cos that would sound a bit crap with Angus. Otherwise, no problem shurely!

homeagainhomeagain · 29/06/2011 20:32

Stuart
Alexander
Struan
Callum

There are many lovely Scottish names

pissedrightoff · 29/06/2011 20:33

Ruairidh is a fantastic name, It would have been DS's name but DH was worried about no-one spelling it correctly.

Cameron is a good one.

I was going to say Lachlan but apparently that is of Irish origin.(sounds Scottish though)

lostinindia · 29/06/2011 20:34

Angus.

birdofthenorth · 29/06/2011 20:36

Yes I bet your Fergus would have loved to have been Fergus Keith Wink

Love Euan but is good friend's recent& acrimonious ex!!

Cameron was always my imaginary DS... Until David Cameron came along Sad
