lucysmam Ooo if you’re branching into trousers too, I’ve found this one romper [[http://crochetbymery.com/2020/11/crochet-baby-romper-in-3-easy-steps.html]] which is on my list to make (behind the converse booties, duffle coat, hat, Santa outfit, rainbow blanket, Star Wars comforters and Jack Skellington blanket 🤦‍♀️). The problem with having a baby to make stuff for, as my list demonstrates, is that there’s too much cute stuff for babies and you’ll end up with an ever growing list that you don’t actually start. I actually have the wool for all but the Santa outfit! Although I don’t think the Jack Skellington blanket was intended for babies but I’ve just decided that obviously babies like Nightmare before Christmas Grin

🙄

I buggered up the link!

@InTheNightWeWillWish stop or I'll definitely wind up needing a baby to dress Grin there are some lovely things on there too!

I've just moved all the ends on part 1 of the LFC scarf to the back, and noticed an errant carry of the orange yarn waaaaaaaay back on the "N". I have no intention of 🐸 frogging all that way back so am going to see if I can work out a way to cover it

I should really stop looking! My kids are too big for these now...but my friend says her friend's little girls would love them; so I'm going to rummage in my stash for all the bits, write a list of anything else I need, & make a couple anyway :)

lucysmam · 04/08/2021 21:34

Hmmm, well, I had decided to re-visit the wristwarmers I made as my very first project, this evening. I cannot for the life of me get row 3 to work properly & it sends the next row leaning /

eitak22 · 05/08/2021 08:22

I have successfully made a leg of my first amigurumi. Got a few holes from dc2tog buy hoping that the fluffy wool will help.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 05/08/2021 12:10

Eitak have a look at some tutorials for the invisible decrease, it helps reduce the holes in amigurumi.

It's one thing to say your life revolves around knitting/crochet, but that would be taking things to a whole other level Grin .

I've had a bit of a tidy up of my craft... 'area' today and have had to accept that it does not have enough room! Dh suggested I keep my yarn stash in the garage Shock - I don't think so! There are some very suitable places in the house, but they are all occupied by other stuff Angry. As I might have mentioned before, what I need is actually a knitting and crochet room. Why does nobody else in my house realise this?!

lazy when I started crocheting, I said to DH I could keep my stuff in the ottoman of our new sofa. He agreed that was a sensible place, out of the way and big enough to keep a few projects at a time. Then we got an under stairs cupboard built before we got the sofa delivered. The under stairs cupboard was to have to somewhere to hide the ironing board and the hoover. The ironing board made it in but I grabbed the space as a yarn cupboard before the hoover made it in Grin Then I filled that space. So I then took over the ottoman when the sofa was delivered. And filled that. And I still have stuff scattered elsewhere like my desk or the glove box. Currently there are 5 balls of yarn on my desk that aren’t in either of my dedicated crochet spaces Blush this is from less than a year of crochet! I think the next step is saving for the new roof on the conservatory then I can actually use that space and setting up a craft space in there, I’ll have to sell it to DH as a necessary improvement if we ever want to sell this house Grin

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 05/08/2021 16:41

What do you reckon about this? DH thinks it looks homemade rather than handy so far and my DM thinks everything I do is lovely so I need independent judges.

I'm going to knit on a few more rounds but do you reckon the contrast is sufficient or is the little chevron pattern just getting lost?

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 05/08/2021 16:41

Handmade not handy...

CrochetBug · 05/08/2021 16:44

@lazylinguist maybe DH could move to the garage and the yarn could go on whatever space he usually occupied Grin

lazylinguist · 05/08/2021 19:02

I really love that, Flavia! Definitely keep going!

But I'd be able to admire many many more dinky creations @lazylinguist Grin. I actually wouldn't have minded a third, but not now - I don't fancy starting the baby years again at almost 40, & it wouldn't be fair on the girls.

@FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack knit on a few rows, then show us again. I quite like the chevron pattern, but wonder if it's getting lost because there's so little of it so far, iyswim?

@InTheNightWeWillWish I thought I was bad with two Poundland bags for life and a Wool Warehouse organza bag of yarn full after 10 months of crochet - turns out I have some catching up to do!

FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack · 05/08/2021 21:33

Hard to say! I think I'll do another version with a different yarn and compare the two. I do really like it, but I think the pattern is lost...

lucysmam · 05/08/2021 21:36

Yeah, I think I agree it does blend in.

I must have been tired last night when I couldn't get the fingerless gloves to work Confused. The first one's almost done.

NiceCardigan · 05/08/2021 22:31

Just to make you jealous lazy I do have a room for my knitting stuff. Part is where I work and the other part has my craft stuff (yes that is a woolly royal wedding on the top shelf!)

My cousin got married and my mum requested I immortalise them in crochet! No idea how they'll be received, I don't think I've seen this cousin in at least 15 years.

They are great @tizwozliz!

sophs29 · 06/08/2021 09:40

@lucysmam I'm glad the fingerless gloves are working now!

@tizwozliz they're so cool! I love the little flags too!

I don't suppose anyone here has tried socks/slipper socks with just normal DK and can tell me how it worked out? 😂 I got a sudden urge to crochet yesterday after not doing any in months and had the urge to make my mum some comfy socks, but I don't have any Aran in my stash that the pattern I found calls for..all I have in my stash now is DK weight and maybe some bulky but not enough to make a pair I don't think!

sophs29 · 06/08/2021 09:41

And @FlaviaAlbiaWantsLangClegBack I also think it's getting a bit lost! lovely colours though!

CrochetBug · 06/08/2021 12:40

@sophs29 I made socks with dk, they are a bit too big but they work fine. I can't remember what pattern I used though.

sophs29 · 06/08/2021 13:10

Ahh thank you @CrochetBug I have purchased a pattern on Etsy that uses DK so I'm going attempt them later! Smile the yarn they use is lush!

Those are brilliant Liz!

I didn't like my alternate swatch colours and I really do like the combination of colours with the green. I've ripped it out but I think I'll try to make it work with a different pattern or texture or something...
