The colours aren't their usual, crivit. The new kit has orange trim round the neck & arms so that's what the girls' dad asked for 🤷‍♀️ I did buy the gold/yellow too, just in case he changed his mind.

I was using my light up hook for a while last night, it definitely makes it easier to see where I'm stitching but doesn't light up the whole thing so I think I'll be asking for a boob light on my Christmas list!

@lucysmam - I only meant wrong colours as in not the claret and blue of Villa 😁

@crivit I have been low key infatuated with Dave Vanian since I was about 10, I love The Damned, seen them twice. The era with his long hair and the white streak is my absolute favourite look of his.

Everything is looking great guys! I've not done anything this week, first week of the holidays means I have a very excited 4 year old who has pretty much worn me out 😂😂

This is one of my knitting bags. Currently has a bright orange eyelash yarn in it for an orang utan.

I'm just working on finishing dd2's earphone holder. I didn't realise when she picked colours that the fluorescent pink is acrylic, rather than cotton, ricorumi dk & I don't think I like it. It's very slippy compared to the cotton!

In honour of Dave I had The Damned playing during my hair dying session this evening 😁. I've still yet to see them but I hold out hope they'll play relatively near me soon.

My hair dying session however meant no knitting this afternoon 😒

tizwozliz aww so cute. She’s getting so big! My tiny, little labrador puppy is almost 1 now! He’s being a bit of a teenager at the minute!

I’ve got some super chunky wool to make my shawl with (I wanted it bigger, snugglier and warmer than the pattern). I’m liking the chunkiness so far but I don’t have any darning needles that will fit the super chunky wool. Has anyone bought some bigger darning needles and can recommend somewhere? Amazon don’t seem to have ones that are big enough and I won’t be in town next weekend to ask at the sewing shop.

No crochet for me yet today - my mind is blown by risk assessment for going back to Rainbows and Guides, and just how spectacularly unhelpful my so called team actually are . So unhelpful that I've sent them a "this is the risk assessment, read it & tell me if you want any changes or that's how it is" email. Grrrr...they'll probably be even less responsive later when I point out that 1st aid and safeguarding need updating for pretty much everyone but me 🤷‍♀️🤯🤯🤯

We are... finally on holiday. Without any broken limbs or stitches so far. 3rd time lucky! 🤸‍♀️😊 I've brought my second sock which is still a WIP and the wool to cast on a new jumper. I'm so relaxed now we're all here in one piece

Dave is one of two, I made a second for someone's brother who is also a huge fan.

I love making dolls, I've made skeletor, lily munster, Freddie Mercury, Dracula, Marilyn Manson (that one aged well 🙄) death from the discworld and Amy from the movie fright night.

I have tentative plans to make Jareth and Sarah from labyrinth in the ballroom scene costumes. And Brewster from animal crossing.

I'm supposed to be making a minion for DD. I can't get into it though. I've avoided this little yellow creatures for so long 😂😂

Could any of you who have crocheted a newborn sized baby jumper/top point me in the direction of a good, free, pattern?

I've sort of managed to dye Bluebell's (my Rainbow unit mascot) top a pinkish colour 🤣🙈

lucysmam yarnspirations have some nice free baby patterns. There’s a gorgeous bear hood jumper/poncho on there. Plus loads of other jumpers/cardigans. I think the problem with yarnspirations is that they’re all US brands but I’ve found you can get most of them from love crafts but you can also get some good alternatives.

@lucysmam I agree with inthenight, yarnspirations have a few cute ones! They have one where you can add a little bear/cat face on the front which is nice to make! It was one of my first projects (I made a mistake on the cuffs and somehow they go out instead of in haha) and you don't have to put the face on, you can just leave it plain ☺️ I remember there being a good YouTube video to it too!

I finished dd2's earphone case today - should have written it all down really but I only wrote how I started it 🤷‍♀️. Lots of frogging 🐸 and trying on along the way but it's done & in use already :)

I've found a hoody and trouser pattern to try for the bear (well, rainbow leopard) on Yarnspirations so thanks @InTheNightWeWillWish and @sophs29 for the suggestion. I just need a plain tee-shirt ish sweater that'll fit under the hoody now & I'm all set to finish off the rest of the summer hols making them!

Also; I'd kind of like a baby to make something for! There are so many cute patterns out there!
