Inspired by the Woolly Hugs "Kinship Projects" colour palettes I have decided to create some on my own to share with fellow crocheters & knitters (and anyone else really!)
These are absolutely free to use & I hope you enjoy them as they are or a starting point for your own variations.

Oh and I'd love to see photos of any projects! Smile

I've done Watch. Can I print your photos from iPhone or iPad ? They are worth keeping !

Footle · 27/07/2016 12:17

Ah yes, screen shots , then I can print. I'll do that.

Footle · 27/07/2016 12:22

Do you mind if I share them with some Spinners, Weavers & Dyers ? How would you like your name to appear if I make pages ?
ZingDrama / DramaQueen / QueenofSheba ?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 27/07/2016 14:09

Oh share with whomever, that's the idea!
Most people just call me Zing here, that will do! :-)

As I said I'll post more, but it's my DS1's birthday today (can't believe he's 15!) and plans have changed so I might not have time today.
Definitely tomorrow.
And I'm glad you like them so much and honoured you want to share them! Smile👍

Happy Son's 15th, and thanks again.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 28/07/2016 16:28

Thank you! He's camping so we decided to pop down to see him. 5 hr round trip including being held up due to accident but it was so worth it! He didn't expect us and the surprise then big grin on his face was priceless! Smile

Right, here come some more photos

I was just about to post on this board to ask if there was any way of seeing colours together to order! Fantastic thank you!

Would you be able to advise, I am new to crotchet and have finished my first very basic project. I now want to try Bella Cocos ripple blanket, but would like to do it on a 6mm hook, do you no if these wools can be purchased in a thicker wool, or would they be ok to be used on a 6mm hook?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 28/07/2016 17:43

Nachos

Yes, use the 6mm hooks, why not?

I use 10mm hooks with DK to make blankets as they are way quicker to make the result is a lovely, soft drape.
And when making hats the same way they are nice and stretchy, again with a good drape, perfect for beanie hats.

Stylecraft Special comes in other thicknesses such as Aran, Chunky and if I'm correct Super Chunky (recommended hook sizes go up) but the range of colours isn't as generous as the DK!

If you are using a foundation chain, use an 8 mm hook for that to create nice big holes, then switch to 6mm hook for the rest of the project

Jaffa is fab. I'm in the process of creating another dozen or so combos, I like bright colours so expect more jaffa coming soon! Grin

Lovely Zing do you take requests? Grin

When DD1 went away to uni 4 years ago I made her a blanket after remembering how cold my uni accommodation was I had to chip the ice off the inside of the Windows Since then I've made one for each of her three best friends and I'm now working my way through DD2's friends but I'm running out of colour inspiration.

The next blanket is for a young lady who will be studying marine biology so I'm thinking green/blues/purples sort of like William Morris wallpaper colours. Can you help?

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/07/2016 02:52

TheWoolly

Yes, definitely!!!
I had an ocean theme in mind already, so I will create one for your DD2's friend and would like to name it after her, if you're happy with that (or just give me her initial or a nickname maybe? Don't worry if you'd rather not)

Zing, please can you show some pictures of your work done using 10mm and normal wool? Thank you! Smile

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/07/2016 08:08

Here's a Billie Blanket I made using DK wool (Schahenmayr Bravo I think) and 10mm hook. It's just a bit bigger than 24"square.

The hearts are made with Stylcraft DK, from left to right they are Matador, Sunshine, Plum, Jaffa, Emperor & Lipstick (I think. Can't remember exactly, just going by photo)

Loving this thread. I'm a novice and lacking in confidence (keep hoping to do squares for Wooly Hugs but chickening out Sad) but this is inspiring!

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/07/2016 08:16

And here's the Spring Scarf I made for WH Easter Sale - these are all Stlyecraft DK and 10 mm hook. Zinglette was keen to keep it, as it was "very softie and cuddly" Grin
