Inspired by the Woolly Hugs "Kinship Projects" colour palettes I have decided to create some on my own to share with fellow crocheters & knitters (and anyone else really!)
These are absolutely free to use & I hope you enjoy them as they are or a starting point for your own variations.

Oh and I'd love to see photos of any projects! Smile

These are lovely! :) I've used Saffron a lot, but never the Sunshine. It's such a beautiful warm colour I think I'm going to have to buy some... Also like the idea of using a bigger hook to speed up projects. I am a very tight crocheter so would probably be a good idea anyway.

I'm working on a Billie's blanket at the mo. It's a bit of an ugly combination really... Saffron, copper, lipstick, gold, shrimp, matador, camel, claret, spice. I'll do a saffron border. Hopefully it'll keep someone cosy, at least :)

It is not ugly!
To me the gold is an odd one out (depending what's on either side of it) and if you haven't use it yet I'd leave it out and use sunshine and/or citron instead.
And adding pomegranate would work too.

But all in all it will be lovely!

Using 10mm hook with DK has transformed my life! Do try it, I love the speed and finished look.

Chunky wool and 10mm hook is my favourite though!
You get that nice winter thickness and warmth but the resulting "fabric" has an excellent, soft drape (blankets, scarves) and the right amount of stretch (hats).
And again the speed is unmatched, I can make a hat that fits 4yo DD or me in an hour or so.

They're in that order, so gold between lipstick and shrimp. I think it looks a bit odd next to the shrimp, but I've done too much to undo it now! Smile hopefully itll look better as a finished blanket.

I like your pegs. Did you make them or buy them readymade? I have the colour chart which is useful, but can't do side by side comparisons.

Made them. Bought cheap wooden pegs from Wilko I think.

You could also make them buy cutting up a thick card into strips, punch a hole in them and thread wool off cuts through the hole, like this.

"Mermaid" arrived on Friday and has been hidden in my new ottoman. I just have to finish the blanket from hell and then I'm starting. I'm thinking a colour scheme called Mermaid could only be used for a ripple blanket.

Ooh how exciting Woolly!
Ripple blankets are so delish.

What is this blanket from hell? Can you just stop, pretend it's finished and forget about it? Grin

Photo of blanket from hell...

It is for my soon to be born great-nephew

It's the "Lucy" summer garden square with a border incorporating his initials. Everyone that's seen it likes it - but I've redesigned it and undone it so many times that I'm starting to resent it.

It's in the much maligned Gold with Graphite and White. My mum was Shock when she saw me working on it this weekend - probably because it wasn't baby blue Grin. The colours are to match the nursery.

Zing you are a genius. I'm just finishing a baby blanket, and everyone says how lovely the colour combinations are, but I just cheated and copied a colour combination that I liked from Ravelry. I need to re-organise my wool. You have inspired me to get some pegs and get on with it. Thank-you Flowers

Thank you all for lovely comments!

Woolly
That blanket is lovely! I think the gold looks like copper, but either way it's great.
Don't change another thing. Finish it and you can move on!

Marci

Haven't forgotten you but had a few manuc days and now waiting for car to be picked up so can't post. We'll do colours soon.

These are gorgeous Zing!

I really can't buy any more wool... unless I find a new hiding place for the stash Wink

Ooooh Zing!!
You're very clever, that's so pretty. Thank you xx

I've been away, so I'm finishing another bear for Belarus (or wherever) tonight. Using up the bright pink chosen by DGD. I thought I'd use it for the Chernobyl blankets, and then they requested no bright pink so the teddies had to be pink instead. My next ted will be camel, spice, and a random green. (I have to call the camel Caramel to myself though Zing.)

I love your bears Marci

I think those colours are a good match, but annoyed that there's nothing else in the orange range but Jaffa, Spice and Apricot!
Apricot should be called Blossom or something and thet should do an actual apricot colour. or mango - yellowy orange. And cantaloupe melon.
stupid dye guy

Jules I've just bought most of the new Stylecraft Batik range but used a 10% discount code (SC33) so it's ok, free post too!😁
Right I'll upload the fruit of last weeks creativity
