Expecting definitely do it! I wish I had some decent college courses near me. I'd love to do a proper pattern cutting one.

RaspberryOverload · 16/11/2015 20:00

I made some earrings last night, and I'll make a few more pairs, as DD likes to give some as presents to her friends.

I'm also making a crochet pram blanket as a colleague's wife is expecting, in the form of mini granny squares with a more elaborate border. It does use up some of my very large stash Grin

Also have a project to do to crochet a bag from jute garden twine, which is a bit more rigid than average household string, in two colours.

And I've just remembered I'm making DD a crochet lacy jacket like top that she can layer with other clothing.

I also want to experiment with making a leather double wrap wristband that has a watch on it.

And I do have other things I like the look of and may make over the next few months....by the time I've made this lot, I'll have another list Grin

WheresMyBurrito · 16/11/2015 20:03

I'm knitting baby DD a natty little pixie hat. She is going to hate me when she's older Grin

Mercedes519 · 16/11/2015 20:11

dowser that would be me. I'm quite pleased with it for a first project. Thanks for the advice, I think I might start doing one edge at the side and then a number of rows and then one edge. I don't know about a border either, I think it would finish it off better?

Donge you could be me! I try to be crafty but just don't have the creative flair. But I do enjoy the process.

I learned to crochet by going on a course at a local craft shop. They managed to teach me in a couple of hours what my granny, mother and YouTube had failed!

Cloth menstrual pads

I did have an idea of making DC's a patchwork quilt each for Christmas, but there's no time to get the bits for it now

I've almost completed my first patchwork quilt which is a present for my daughter's birthday next week. I've just got some of the actual quilting to do and then I might put a binding on it if I have time.

On the needles I have the first of a pair of wristwarmers which will be a stocking filler for someone.

After that I will be cutting a Kitschy Coo Lady Skater dress, a Cashmerette Appleton wrap dress and then trying to find a pattern to make a top for my daughter from some very fluffy fleece.

I'm knitting a baby cardigan, it has a hood with bear ears and is so cute! Will try and get a photo.

Mercedes519 · 16/11/2015 21:36

polter that looks fab. Do you have to make the pom poms?

CantSee4Looking · 16/11/2015 21:37

So many amazing projects here. The truth is that I have sooo many projects on the go that I would scare people. Not helped by finding a jumper that I decided i wanted to knit over 20 yrs ago when i lacked the skills and patience. Pattern has recycled itself and fallen apart. So will probably re purpose the wool. But the got bits want to do project list is long and the wips is very long. I seem to have an adversion to completing projects. I guess I just get bored with them Blush

Needed before Christmas: 2 blankets, 3 sets of bunting, and helping ds to make whatever he has decided to make for me this year having recently learnt to use a sewing machine.

On the must actually finish off -no excuses list: 2 blankets, and the second half of an arm warmer project, snowflake bunting and a picture I was given years ago.

What method of crafting? knitting, crochet, machine sewing and embroidery. If i could find my camera I would post a picture of my pretty wool that I want to turn into a scarf and hat. But I think it is lurking somewhere under a craft project...

This is the start of my scarf. It's led wonky on that pic. (I am a beginner so it isn't the best, but I'm quite pleased!)

Fatty, I'd be pleased too!

I'm just about to tidy round so I can cut the last few pieces of dd's dress (and see just how much excess fabric I'll have - reckon I could get another dress out of it Shock )

I am just finishing off a beanie hat for my DGS for his Christmas stocking, and then I have 3 baby jackets to knit :)

CantSee4Looking · 21/11/2015 10:19

Made this hat last night. Really pleased with it because I did not like the effect of the recommended needle size with the wool I had, so used a smaller hook and had to adapt the pattern so that the correct sizes were gained as the tension was wrong. it took adding rows to get to the right size and decreasing where the pattern didn't. Needless to say there was a lot of ripping back and redoing. Final result is worth it, and I have wool left over to play with. [fhlgrin]

I just took up loom knitting with no experience whatsoever, watched some youtube videos and have managed to complete two hats and most of an infinity scarf in a couple of days!

Really recommend it to anyone struggling with traditional needle knitting :)

oobedobe · 21/11/2015 15:32

Here is my infinity scarf, in progress.

KurriKurri · 21/11/2015 16:19

oobedobe - what sort of things can you make with the loom and what type would you recommend? - I am thinking of getting one for my (adult) DD fro Christmas - but there seem to be so many shapes and sizes out here I'm not sure what to go for. She is a complete beginner - she doesn't do traditional knitting.

Ememem84 · 21/11/2015 16:50

Toaster cover. It's my first sewing project.

I'm tempted to buy a sewing machine as a gift to myself....

Really want to learn to crochet.

MamehaSan · 21/11/2015 18:49

Brilliant thread, very inspiring! Smile

I've just finished a little amigurumi toy for a friend's baby (due in a few weeks), and I'm now making three of these little crochet hearts, I'm going to hang them together in our hallway as a decoration.

I've got a pattern for a crochet christmas tree which may or may not see the light of day before this Christmas, and I'm also pondering how I can make sone laundry storage bags to keep all our random coat hangers, washing nets and bits and bobs tamed. I want to crochet a scarf for myself too, but I'm running out of time I think!
