Finished projects - show me yours!

Who's finished something recently? I don't have many crafty friends and love looking at things people have made.

Here's mine: some oven gloves for BIL and SIL who are moving house. One of three projects I'm making out of a pair of DH's old jeans!

Never sewn curves before so I'm chuffed with these Easter Smile and I didn't have to use bias binding! Win! I did have to slip stitch the turning gap closed which was a pain in the bum, but I prefer the look than if I had top stitched instead.

A little bunny dress I made just to see if I could - sadly my 16 yr old DD won't be persuaded to try it on Grin

Love that dress!!

Barely a project: quick linen tea-towel with cotton accent strip as a housewarming gift for my friend's party today. V speedy, easy present to use up fabric stash!

Some lovely projects.
This is a hat I crochet for my dd who is minion mad, her BFF then wanted one too so I made another.

Great projects :)

This is one of the very few occasions I wish there was a "love" button like there is on Ravelry. I keep looking for it whilst looking through this thread.

MothershipG · 28/04/2014 07:44

Those Minion hats are fab, I want one too! Grin

Poetnojo · 28/04/2014 10:32

Thanks mothership

cjdamoo · 28/04/2014 12:44

Oh the minions hat has convinced me i must try once more to learn to crochet.

Blithereens · 28/04/2014 18:23

Today's finished project is this string of reversible bunting for my friend's baby. I am so proud of this even though it's all just sewing in a straight line! I'm seeing her in May, I hope she likes it.

Another one. I made this satchel for my mums birthday on Wednesday. She is the youngest 70 ever! She also likes gardening and cats, which made me pick this fabric. It is a tad, even if I say so myself, over the top, but no-one else has one that's for sure!

Love that bag, and it's for your 70 year old mum, wow, love the red bag you made for your friend too!
All these projects are really impressive, must get stuck in with learning how to sew properly, I have a machine here gathering dust!
The quilts are fab, as are all the little girls dresses, some very talented ladies here!

lynniep · 29/04/2014 11:09

And one more. This is a commission I took for an adorable lady who is getting married in July. She has a very distinctive style and knew exactly what she wanted, so I just followed instructions and came up with this!

I've almost finished this...but have no idea what to sew above the word 'love'. It's for MIL from DS as a birthday present.

Blither Please can I steal your bunting idea, I have a new baby cousin who definitely needs name bunting. Smile

Can I ask for help from all you knitters and yarn addicts? I have downloaded the pattern for the Leftie scarf, I have rounded up a friendly knitter and she said she'd prefer to use DK, is that ok? So could you recommend something in a lovely soft yarn that comes in purple and green? I've been looking around various websites but getting very confused! Confused

PookBob · 30/04/2014 18:58

I used DK, so that's not a problem.

What is your budget like? Do you want all the stripes the same colour?

Will the main colour be the green or the purple?

I bloody love wool hunting!

Flossyfloof · 30/04/2014 19:11

Those Minion hats are brilliant! Are they from a pattern, Poet?

Poetnojo · 30/04/2014 19:37

Thanks flossy, I didn't follow a pattern for them, I saw a pic online of just a plain minion beanie hat without ear flaps and tassely bits, and made it up as I went along, didn't write it out either sorry.
I'm sure you could find a free pattern for something similar online though.

Poetnojo · 30/04/2014 19:42

These are a couple of hats I made a few weeks ago.

My ripple blanket. Subtle it ain't, but I like it anyway!

MothershipG · 30/04/2014 21:36

Pook I hereby challenge you to find me some lovely soft DK yarn in purple and green!

I would like it to look just like yours, how many repeats did you do? I would like the purple as the main colour. I would like different greens but as I don't have a stash I think economics will mean just one ball of green. I don't really want to spend more than £10, I can't believe the prices of some of the yarn I've been looking at! Shock

I look forward to the results of your quest, return to me with the holy Grail yarn and I will declare you my champion! Grin

MothershipG · 30/04/2014 21:37

Halsall The colours in your blanket really pop! I think it's fabulous!

Blithereens · 30/04/2014 21:47

Mother please do! :D

More amazing projects. I love coming to this thread and see what everyone's made.

I have completed the first lot of baby blocks! Can you tell I had a job lot of this alphabet fabric? Wink

Ralph what about 'with' in a contrasting, cursive script? I absolutely love it btw.
