If you can knit AT ALL could you please CAT either of us?

We are making a blanket present with a Mn connection and would love as many people as feel willing and able to contribute a 15cm square, plain or fancy as you like, in cotton double knitting yarn. We can help with sourcing suppliers.
More details available off-board.

It's a surprise for the person in question, so please, please contact us for more info rather than make guesses etc on here...it's in an extremely good cause.

Very many thanks to anyone who feels able to help. XXX

Tissy/Marina,

I'm fiddling with my original one, and I think it will look better as a 13 x 15 square. So it would fit beside Tissy's 17 x 15 square? If that is the plan, still?

I can do a 15 x 15, obviously, but 13 x 15 will suit the pattern better. (Otherwise, it might be 30 x 15, but that will involve a lot more fiddling on my part.)

Marina · 11/11/2005 22:57

Great NQC. I will open a square match-making agency as I had an e-mail from a 15 x 15 lonelyheart in Kent earlier today. n/s, gsoh apparently. I am sure your square and Tissy's will get on fine

Yep I had those too. They arrived safely a while back and very nice they are too! Sorry, I thought I mailed you, but I am getting a bit addled between people's RL and Mn names

My original square is coming out well, although nowhere near as lovely as my giant one.

I am now inspired and much braver, and may try to make a hat with an elephant on it for my BIL for Xmas.

tamum · 13/11/2005 10:21

Do you not like him much then?

PollyLogos · 13/11/2005 10:23

Marina, I should be sending 4 by Wednesday. One in each of the colours you sent me plus a blue one and a white one. Plain colours but with a 'picture' knitted in.

PollyLogos · 13/11/2005 10:24

(I mean I'll post them Wednesday)

NotQuiteCockney · 13/11/2005 10:38

He's quite big on elephants. I forget the name of the elephant-headed Hindi god, but that's their family god, IYSWIM.

I figure a texture-only elephant will be reasonably subtle and not like a child's hat.

Right now, I have to do some very tiresome NCT administrivia ... blah.

PeachyChrimbo · 13/11/2005 10:55

Ganesha.

NotQuiteCockney · 13/11/2005 19:36

Yes, that's the chap.

My original-design square came out great, so I will be trying to post things on Monday or Tuesday (I also suck at posting things. Oh, and sewing in ends, which is the other thing I need to do.)

Ah, 2s.o th2at's ho0w 78a 02e/anged baby makes you post multiple times. I had wondered

tamum · 13/11/2005 20:32

Sorry, NQC, I was just teasing It sounds very enterprising and imaginative.

NotQuiteCockney · 13/11/2005 20:35

I'm trying to not give any annoying Xmas gifts this year. So everyone's getting knitted stuff or Oxfam stuff. (By everyone, I mean the adults in my in-law family.)

I figure, even if they don't like the hats, well, at least I enjoyed knitting them, and it's not like they enjoy all the random piles of rubbish we normally buy.

Actually, I think I will knit a tie, too.

Fauve · 13/11/2005 22:55

Lovely wool safely delivered, Marina, and I've duly knitted it into a nice square which, surprisingly, seems to be the right size. It's only one, but it'll go in the post tomorrow.

suedonim · 14/11/2005 00:12

I'll attempt to post two 15x15 squares to you tomnorrow, Marina.
