So, New Year, New Thread. And the next set of New Babies are arriving! I hope they prove that there can be light at the end of the very dark tunnel we have all had to come through and I hope there are many more babies to come. In the meantime, we're here, as ever, with supportive words, virtual hands to hold and multiple fingers to cross to help everyone through these nerve wracking waits and scans. A more lovely group of ladies you could not wish to find. xxx

Back again just for a quick post (as I'm at work) - good luck to BabyLily for today. I remember that Justa had IUGR for one of her babies and if it is that, they catch up quick enough once born. Hope all well, I'm sitting on the virtual bench and thinking of you...

NumptyMum · 26/07/2011 12:09

Doh, just realised BabyLily's scan is Weds... hope you have enough distractions and aren't counting the hours.

cherrybug · 26/07/2011 12:40

I got it wrong too, dont even know what day it is!

bezzyk · 26/07/2011 12:56

Seeing as the oldies are showing up, I thought I'd pop in to say hi. I joined the thread back in April 2009 after a termination for T21. Had an awful couple of years after that, a missed miscarriage caused by T13 and another early miscarriage.

Went for the recurrent miscarriage testing which revealed nothing was wrong. DH decided (for both of us ggrr) to take some time out from TTC, and I must admit, it was a fabulous choice. I began to enjoy my life, and my DD again, without being obsessed with TTC. I got fit, lost weight, and began to appreciate what I DO have in my life, rather than what I didn't.

Anyway, it would appear that I may be finally getting my happy ending. I'm 12 weeks pregnant with what appears to be a healthy baby. Went for an OSCAR scan last week, odds of DS are 1 in 7845 and the other trisomies are much higher than that. We went from DEFINITELY having a CVS to deciding that it was actually a ridiculous choice, given those odds. It was just impossible to imagine EVER having odds as favourable as that.

I guess what I want to achieve, is to say to those in similar situations, is that there IS hope, and it CAN happen.

BK x

Hi

No baby here yet i'm 37+2 , previous DC were 36 and 35wks so I feel as though I am overdue. I have a scan tomorrow to check the placenta, as it was getting a bit 'mature' on previous scans but nothing too much to worry about hopefully but may need to be induced at term.

Good luck tomorrow Babylily, will be checking in to see how it went.

LittlePoot · 26/07/2011 18:44

hello! I'm also just checking in to see how everyone's doing and it's lovely to hear all the good news. especially lovely for me to see Bezzy's good news. I'm so pleased for you that there's a new mini bez on the way.
Hope tomorrow's scan gives you reassurance babylily and hope the imminent deliveries go smoothly.
Little Jacob is getting huge and is as cute as can be. He's got the hang of night time sleeping and I can sometimes persuade him to take decent naps in the day. He's not too bothered about moving around-I've seen him roll and he can sit up but he's just as happy for now lying on the floor which is good! And he loves swimming. Definitely the best class we've done.
Hope all continues to be well and looking forward to the next new arrivals. Hope the lurkers are doing ok too and looking forward to seeing kittens answer helenlouisey back with good news soon. xxxxx

Congrats Bezzy - and to the Captain without a C! Glad the break from TTC helped, I know at the time you were pretty down about it. How old is mini Bez now? I'm guessing she'll be old enough to appreciate the whole Big Sister role.

Nice to hear from you too, Poot - and to hear how Jacob is getting on. How wonderful that he has got the hang of night time sleeping Envy. Swimming is def good - I used to love going with DS but sadly haven't managed to get there very often with BabyJ.

eavers and Babylily, I'll be thinking of you both with your scans tomorrow... xx

Havingkittens · 27/07/2011 10:00

Hello all. Just popped back in after a long weekend away in France and spotted a flurry of visits from all of you founder members. How lovely. Great to hear the little ones are doing well. Wonderful to hear Bezzy's news too! Congratulations!

All seems to be going well for everyone on here really which is fantastic. I can't believe there are quite a few of you who are due fairly soon now too.

Not much news from me so far. I've just done my 4th cycle on the steroids. AF due anytime from the beginning of this week but not shown up yet, but had 3 BFNs so far so I'm not holding my breath. I'm allowed to do another 2 cycles and then I have to take a 2 month break from taking the steroids before I am allowed another 6 months back on them again. Hopefully it won't come to that but it doesn't seem to be happening as easily as it used to. I guess that's being over 40 for you!

Still very much just a lurker on this thread at the moment I'm afraid. There are so many new people to keep up with that I am a bit rubbish at personals. I am very much in a "one stage at a time" mindset at the moment so I am mostly hanging out on the TTC on steroids and Miscarriage testing threads for now as I feel that's where I am most comfortable. It's wonderful to come on here and read that you lot are going on from your heartbreak to have successful pregnancies and it does still give me hope but sometimes it's difficult for me to read about progressing pregnancies, which is why I am never really able to make personal comments to anyone as I kind of end up skim reading just to see that everyone is doing well. I hope you understand. I do often pop in but for now I will just keep you updated from time to time and join you when my time comes to fret over Nuchals and CVS choices!

Love to all. Especially my old friends on here. x

mrsbigz · 27/07/2011 13:20

just really quickly popping on (as am at work) to wish Eavers and BabyLily all the best for their scans today - hope all is well with both of you and your little ones and look forward to hearing an update x

Cantdothisagain · 27/07/2011 21:34

Hi everyone! Babylily, hope scan went okay today. I always measured small and it turned out fine. I understand you worrying though. Eavers, good luck to you too-sounds like baby will be here soon!

Kittens, good to hear your news but annoying that it's taking longer this time to conceive. My tinpot theory is that my problems were caused by my womb being overkeen and accepting duff sperm (I conceived at first month of trying four times, as, I think, did Bee and Bez, and you were like that too). Taking a bit longer might mean your body is more choosey and it'll work. I hope it happens soon. And I for one totally get that you need to hang out elsewhere on Mnet for now. I'm sure other people understand that too. We just keep asking about you because we want to know how you're doing. Next time you're here, fingers crossed it'll be to report a bfp with a sticky baby. Hope you're okay, anyway. You're always welcome to moan here.

Hi Poot, Numpty, Katie... anyone heard from Catlady? and Coffee's been quiet lately. Numpty, lovely image of babyJ walking around with her handbag! Babycant is a real chatterbox these days. She can say so many things! Shame she still keeps me up all night. Grr. Numpty,do you keep in touch with Mimsy? how is she?

Bezzy, seeing your message took me back to the earliest days of the thread and made me think of Bee in particular. I remember in the early days after my second termination, Bezzy keeping me sane with chatter about Molton Brown. So glad Minibez is getting a sibling. Babybez?!

MrsBigz, how many weeks are you now, are you near the nuchal stage?

Babycant is stirring... boo... anyway take care all of you.

eavers · 27/07/2011 21:48

Hi all. Logging in to see if there is any news from Babylily.

My scan was good today. The placenta still appears to be working ok, growth is fine, baby on the large side. I have been booked in for an induction on 12th Aug just before 40 wks just to be on the safe side. which I am happy about as I don't want to take any risks with placental failure.
The only slight prob is that my blood pressure is getting a bit highish, it will need to be rechecked every 5 days.

Today is the 1st anniversary of my termination for T21 so I was dreading having the baby today, hopefully I won't have him by midnight, (but I have quick labours so may still just be possible)!

Havingkittens · 27/07/2011 21:48

Not such a tinpot theory Cantdo. I don't know about it being the cause of chromosome problems but there is a theory or condition that's referred to as "Non-fussy Uterus" which is exactly that and is thought to be the cause of miscarriages.

babylily · 27/07/2011 22:18

hello hello! Thanks for all the kind messages...I have good news to report, thankfully. Baby's measurements are all exactly on 50th centile for 34 weeks, and there is 11cm of fluid. Had a follow up appointment with the consultant too, and she reassured us that everything is fine, baby weighs about 5lb 6 now and should be 8+ at term. I'm just carrying a good sized baby in a 6 month sized bump! I even get to see the community midwife in 2 weeks rather than my usual hospital appointments.
So that's me hopefully until 5th September when I go in to have my section. Quickly may it pass...

Eavers-hope your scan went well today. Must be an odd feeling to be past the point when you usually deliver!

Lovely to hear about the babies... I still can't quite imagine what it will be like to have a real baby again...And remembering swimming with my DD's...that always seemed to end with a stressful half hour in the changing rooms trying to peel swim nappy full of poo from screaming DD...

bezzy- congratulations to you! I remember you from back along. Wishing you a happy healthy next 6 months! It's lovely when you find out that CVS isn't necessary- we had a 1:4000 for DS and 1:20000 for edwards, and after one DS and one Edwards pregnancy knew how good those odds really were.

kittens- everything crossed that you will be back on here soon.

love to all xx

eavers · 28/07/2011 13:34

Babylily - that's fantastic news you must be so relieved! An average sized baby within a small bump sounds perfect to me. Its a pity they couldnt have scanned you the other day it would have spared you a lot of worry.

Grandj- How are you now after your scare the other week? Have things all settled down?

NatzCNL · 28/07/2011 16:53

Hello, just popping on to see how everyone is doing. Glad the scans are goig well. Kittens, lovely to hear from you, hoping everything starts happening soon Smile

Sorry for lack of personals, just got back from a mega school uniform shop - got everything now except the tights and socks, cant believe DD1 is starting primary school in Sept!

Had another growth scan today, all looking good. Baby weighs 4lb 1.8oz at the moment and is rather long - very much like DD1. Not getting much sleep as baby is a night owl and kicks me like crazy whenever I sit still for too long. Also doesn't like my lying down so am trying to sleep in a sitting position, which doesn't make a huge difference as she doesn't like me sitting still.... only 8 weeks to go then I can sleep downstairs whilst DP deals with night feeds Grin

Got to go get dinner sorted so I can try to get an earlyish night xx

katiecubs · 28/07/2011 20:05

Oooh hello all the oldies Grin

Bezzy so lovely to hear from you with such amazing news! huge congratulations to your little family - i had often wondered how you were getting on. and Bee, love to you too if you are reading x

Kittens no need to do personals, it's lovely of you to pop back in once in a while so we know how you are doing. Fingers crossed as alway for you.

Babylily so glad to hear the scan went so well! Good for anyone else to know too that the measurements are not always right! Natz and Eavers glad you had positive scan too - exciting times ahead.

Poot - hey glad Jacob is doing so well and he is a good little sleeper. Felix loved swimming classes too but i had to stop them when i went back to work. Still take him to the pool every now and again though.

Hi Can't, Hi Numpty lovely to hear from you guys and your little ones too. How old are they both now? Felix will be one in just over two weeks - crazy!

Mrsbigz hope you are feeling well! Much love everyone else xxxx

Cantdothisagain · 28/07/2011 20:46

Katie! Felix is going to be one! I can't believe it. Babycant is 15 months, cheeky and chatty. Are you planning another baby yet (ignore me if not allowed to ask?!)?

Good scan news, Lily and Eavers.

I realize my message to Bezzy didn't look very enthusiastic, but I already knew she was pregnant. Another graduate. Your turn next, Kittens.

Natz, does your DH know he's doing the night feeds?!

gillianread · 28/07/2011 20:56

well they told me when i was pregnant that my baby was average, HE WAS 11LB 10OZ

NumptyMum · 28/07/2011 21:21

Oooph Gillian - eyes watering here! Good to hear all fine with eavers and Babylily. BabyJ is 13 months now, and until 1 had NO teeth, now has 3! Anyway, better run - love to all. xx

mrsbigz · 28/07/2011 21:40

just wanted to quickly say really glad Eavers and Babylily's scans went well today - was thinking of you both.

thanks for asking after me, am only 6weeks so still very much in the 'i can't actually believe i'm pg and won't until i get some hard proof' stage. i have an early scan booked for the 8th august (will be nearly 8 weeks then). feeling ok, just nauseaus in the mornings and evenings. but i'm fine with that.

will update more (and do more personals i promise) when i feel more like i actually belong on this thread!! Confused

love to you all, and it's lovely hearing about all the babies approaching (and having past!) their first birthdays xxx

cherrybug · 28/07/2011 21:49

Babylily, really glad to hear your scan was all good. I think I must be the opposite to you, 6 months size baby in an 8 month size bump - I feel huge! It's great you have that reassurance now and can hopefully relax for the last few weeks.

Eavers, great all is looking good for you too. Hope that BP stays down! Not long at all for you now though, exciting! Also hope yesterdays anniversary wasn't too difficult and passed peacefully.

Great to hear some updates from old timers and all babies are grand. Lots of positivity!

MrsBigz, how are you feeling? Is your first scan coming up? The early days are hard I know. Hope all ok with you.

Won't write anymore as on phone and it takes me ages! Hi to everyone else, manitz, grandj, hope you're well and feeling calm after former scares. Natz my DD starts nursery in Sep and that seems such a milestone that has come round so quickly. Starting primary school must feel even more like that. Time really does fly by!

MyAngelAva, hope all good with you too!?

Cherry x

Cantdothisagain · 29/07/2011 07:52

Cherry, when is your baby due? I am sure Grandj must be nearly there.... I have a hazy notion of dates. Myangelava must be due in the New Year, I think..? and Ghislaine too? Are Natz and Manitz due around the same time?

Mrsbigz, it's so hard to feel that the pregnancy is 'real' after losing a baby. I didn't admit it to myself really even until after the nuchal. And even then I was petrified of the anomaly scan. But you are welcome to post here even when it doesn't feel real. And you will get there. This is just a surreal limbo that you have to get through.

Gillan -?! My eyes are watering.

grandj · 29/07/2011 08:25

Hi all and thanks for asking after me. I'm fine now, baby seems to have settled down and hopefully is staying put until a bit nearer to the due date. I'm 32 weeks (although I agree with Cant that it feels like I should be nearly there!!) and baby weighs about 5lb according to the growth scan which is 99th percentile for gestation. Doctors don't seem bothered by this but I can't help thinking I'm heading for a 10 lb-er like my brothers...

Natz it sounds like we are going through the same thing, my DD is starting school in September and I am putting off getting her uniform as I can't bear the whole idea, which I never thought I'd be like. Can't believe my little girl is starting school, and how quickly time passes...

There are a few of us coming up to having our babies - isn't it weird how it seems to go in groups, I remember the last ones too. Is eavers due first? Then babylily and I think me and natz have practically the same due date - then manitz and cherry not long after? Exciting but scary....

katiecubs · 29/07/2011 10:08

GrandJ wow not long to go at all - glad you are feeling well and hope the baby is not tooo big! Gillian ouch, that had to tickle Wink

Can't i'm getting married on the 16th of December and don't want to be waddling down the isle so will get that out of the way first! We have not really made plans for a second but next year at some point i think - if we are lucky enough of course.

NatzCNL · 29/07/2011 16:49

Am loving the flurry of updates! This thread goes quiet for a while then suddenly everyone pops on far a quick hello and update Smile

It seems we are all going in groups of babies. Am 32 +1 now and due the 22nd Sept (although by my dates am due the 25th). To be honest the last 8 weeks have shot past so fast. Have been so caught up with the leaving of pre-school and was also caring for a friends son for 6 weeks whilst she worked out her return from maternity leave obligation, I cant believe I am so close to the end now. Although am definately feeling it now. Trying to cram as much in to the first few weeks of the summer holidays because I know I am going to have no energy come late August!

Grandj - sounds like baby is going to be a very good size! I was in shock when they told me yesterday that baby was 4lb 1.8oz, for some reason I had it in my head that she would be about 2 1/2lb now - think I may be slightly in denial as to how far into this pregnancy I actually am! Gillian, oh my goodness... Shock I cant imagine how your birth must have been!

Half of me cant wait till Sept to have baby here, but like you Grandj, really not liking the idea of DD1 starting primary school!!!

Katie, I hope Felix has a lovely first birthday. I always found that time seemed to speed up after the kids hit 1. Will be celebrating DD1's 5th birthday in September, then DD2 will be 4 in February... am shocked at how quickly it is all going.

Cant, DP may not know yet that he is on night feeding duties, lol, but after the lack of sleep leading up to DD3 arriving, he owes me a few nights of undisturbed sleep. Bless him, he has been trying to give me a couple of lie-ins but the girls aren't too keen on me sleeping when they are up and about. Much prefer to tell me all about the games they are playing, or what clothes they want to wear etc.

Mrsbigz, not too far to go till the 8th, although it probably feels like months away for you. Hopefully the nausea wont hang around for too long. Dont miss early pregnancy one little bit! Will be thinking of you Smile

Hello to everyone else, sorry I have only mentioned a few. Just back from the park and desperate to lie down for half an hour before dinner time.

xx
