CheerfulYank · 07/06/2010 21:54

Oooh, I didn't know you lived in the land of the Maple gomummy! Which part? I'm in Minnesota so not so very far from you depending on where you are.

And of course you were missed, HE! I've been worried sick!

CheerfulYank · 07/06/2010 21:57

Oh, teaandcake, what little beauties your DC are! Soooo cute!

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 22:04

Cheerful, I've been to Minnesota (or through it rather - have done a couple of road tours of the US in a former life!) I'm quite far away though... only about a 35 hour drive or so, lol! (Have learned through MN that that sounds really far to most people! )

Ezma · 07/06/2010 22:23

Hey all . How are you all? Raining here and actually quite enjoying listening to it. Brought a nice bottle of chilled white and some chocolate - anybody fancy some before I scoff the lot? Just going to catch up on all the chat now.

Hi Cheesy, what's wrong?

gomummygo · 08/06/2010 00:06

Hello Ezma, Tiredmum has installed a beautiful tin roof on our gazebo so we can enjoy the sound of the rainfall. Would love a glass of white, thanks!

CheerfulYank · 08/06/2010 01:15

What's the matter, dear sad cheesy? I'll commiserate with you, shall I?

Wine please!

CheerfulYank · 08/06/2010 01:19

I've been to parts of Canada, gomummy. My brother used to have hockey tournaments there occasionally, and when I was 18 I worked at a resort right on the border. We used to canoe over and get tanked at the Canadian bars, as we were legal there. Oh, were cool. I really really really want to go to PEI, and not just because I'm a huge Anne of Green Gables geek. Mostly, mind you, but not entirely.

CheerfulYank · 08/06/2010 01:19

Oh, were we cool, I meant.

gomummygo · 08/06/2010 01:41

You'd love it then Cheerful, PEI is still full of Anne of Green Gables stuff, and fortunately now there's a bridge!

I have your cool story in reverse though! I didn't know the drinking age in NY was 21 when a bunch of friends and I went down skiing at Lake Placid years ago. I was surprised to get carded at the bar and smartly pronounced that I was 20 and had been legal for two years.... the locals had a good laugh at me.

gomummygo · 08/06/2010 04:08

I am an avid gardener, any objections to the addition of window boxes and a little bed? If not, are there any requests?

Hey Cheerful if you're ever going north and east we should meet up along the way!

I do all the tourist stuff on that coast almost annually, where/when lobster is in season. (Ok I really just adore fresh lobster and this is the cheapest way to get them that I've found!)

teaandcakeplease · 08/06/2010 08:37

I moved to Watford about 10 years ago so I didn't go to school here. I do like it here though a lot. Made some good friends in the years here.

gomummygo · 08/06/2010 13:04

Sounds nice, Tea. Anywhere that you can move into as an adult and still make good friends would be a nice place, I think. Oh and you are entitled to preen, your DC's are adorable!

RooBear · 08/06/2010 13:44

hello everyone, been away for ages didn't realise the bench was still going! anyone fancy a cuppa?

teaandcakeplease · 08/06/2010 13:44

I think Canada is probably nicer GoMummy than Watford.

How are things your end today?

gomummygo · 08/06/2010 14:01

Things are well here, thanks Tea. Things are moving along nicely with the potty, though certainly not as good as your DD's success! I am quite relaxed about it as DS is still much younger than we had figured he would be when he started.

Do you think you will try to tackle nighttime too, given how well she is doing?
