LOL Elmo!

No just a towel in car seat folded over under where her bottom goes Nothing fancy. But I do make her sit on potty before we leave and when we get there with Smarties for bribery.

HairExtensions · 06/06/2010 21:36

tea how old is is your DD?

Tiredmumno1 · 06/06/2010 22:27

there is now lol, i hope thats better, and the fairy lights make it look so pretty.

HE of course you missed, i had wondered where you had got to, i hate moving its so bloody stressful.

and cheesey is fine, i think it was a shock, but she's good.

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 22:32

She is 2 yrs and 10 months

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 23:27

Hey HE, welcome back! Ugh, feel for you moving, what a miserable thing that is. Organization does make it much better, but still a pain...

Think that's what I'll be doing Tea, though without the smarties. I have the only DS on earth who doesn't like sweets! He can only be bribed motivated with Thomas-related paraphernalia these days it seems, so am saving that for the poos in our future!

Oh thank you Tiredmum, lovely tin roof, will be so soothing in the rain. And fairy lights! You do go above and beyond!

HairExtensions · 06/06/2010 23:29

Tea my DD2 is 3 at end of July and we're doing the potty training too. The biggest problem I've had getting her to part with her nappy is that she gets the top between thumb and forefinger and rubs it when she's tired so she was refusing not to wear one, even though she got the concept of the potty.

i have had to:

1- tell her she won't be allowed in nursery in Sept if she's wearing a nappy

2- make sure she has access to a nappy just to hold when needed

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 23:39

HE don't be , that nappy access plan is a fab idea!

HairExtensions · 06/06/2010 23:49

oh do you have a rubber/stroker too?

Tiredmumno1 · 06/06/2010 23:50

Oh wow thanx gomummy my feet are loving it, your a real pal

what you all doin tomorrow?

HairExtensions · 06/06/2010 23:53

Hello TM! Missed you x

I'm working and I'll be stuck in the office all bloody day! At least I can have a sneaky MN and chase up estate agents etc!

What about you?

Tiredmumno1 · 07/06/2010 00:03

Lol HE (at the sneak peeking at MN)

tomorrow will probably consist of cleaning and a bit of relaxation with the kids back at school.

i wonder what the weather will be like, i havent checked?

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 00:20

Ummmm......not sure how to respond to that HE...I'm guessing what that is! LOL

Tomorrow is errands and groceries and all that good stuff for us.

Wish I was Tiredmum! A "real" one I mean. Think we'd all have a lovely time in RL!

Tiredmumno1 · 07/06/2010 00:26

I know we would have a blast in RL. you never know our paths may cross one day. where do you live gomummy?

HE where have you moved to?

HairExtensions · 07/06/2010 00:34

Sorry gomummy just realised that could be misinterpreted

I meant of course does your dc do the stroking of fabrics as a comfort thing?

I'm still in Leeds at the moment but we're relocating to Scotland

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 01:44

LOL, HE I thought it was related to the massager that I gave tiredmum!!!

Anyhow, yes HE, sort of. Hems & corners in particular. Your idea of having access to one will come in handy I think. He is v. attached to his nappies, that's for sure!

Scotland will be different HE, are you looking forward to it? I am in Canada, it is lovely. Where are you Tiredmum? Hope our paths do cross someday! It is nice how the world is such a small place now.

HairExtensions · 07/06/2010 01:51

You're in Canada? Well, I never!

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 01:55

Thought everyone knew that HE?

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 02:21
teaandcakeplease · 07/06/2010 11:46

I didn't know you were in Canada GoMummy, another nice lady on my antenatal thread lives there too called Chefswife.

My DD's birthday is also end of July. I've been talking about the potty and trying to sit her on it since she turned age 2 in all honesty, so she understood the concept for a long long time and I have tried to potty train her many many times before, with failure after failure on the poo front especially. Always talked about mummy going to do a .... want to come too etc.

A big gift for pooing in potty/loo and buying special Peppa Pig knickers was things that helped and a shed load of praise. Also bought a special book all about potty training, there's Dora books and all sorts available.

I think every child is different though. She would wear nappies if she could still, bless her but she's really doing well and went to pre school this morning in knickers, staff all on hand to remind her and take her to loo. So hoping on collection all is well!

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 12:57

I'm sorry, I thought we had the "where is everyone right now" chat on the original thread, guess I was mistaken. Anyhow, yes, there are lot of MNers over here right now it seems.

Went to preschool in knickers, wow, that is great progress! Do let us know how it goes at the end of the day, Tea! Fingers crossed!

Tiredmumno1 · 07/06/2010 14:44

I just took a guess at california because of the end of your email lol. i would love to visit canada one day, i have heard its lovely gomummy.

and i just realised i forgot to send my piccy to you, i will do it next time i am on computer, i am being lazy and using my phone at mo.

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 17:18

Home baked scones with jam and cream...mmmmm! Tiredmum you will have to come visit us when you get to Canada -- we have a lovely RL bench to sit on in the garden, and in my Monica-esque way I will feed you all kinds of goodies! And yes do send piccy, I wonder if it will be as I picture.

Well we are just home from running errands, DS is "helping" to put the groceries away, so must go rescue the baguette (currently being used as a baseball bat ).

teaandcakeplease · 07/06/2010 19:02

Oh wow! Scones! Yum!

Well the lady at pre school said DD said she needed the loo and had obviously had a "slight" accident but then did a big one in the loo. So she did ok really.

She embarrassed me this afternoon though outside my flat in the communal grass area by doing one by taking knickers down and squatting on grass! Soooo embarrassing as it's overlooked. Need to teach her more etiquette me thinks?

I didn't read a lot of the original thread as I dipped into the thread only from time to time.

Tiredmumno1 · 07/06/2010 19:08

Ooo gomummy now i am intrigued to know what you think i look like lol.

wow if that invite really does stand, i think i will bug hubby and tell him to save up i wanna go to canada

gomummygo · 07/06/2010 20:33

Tea that is rather adorable of your DD, the etiquette will come but she obviously gets the idea! So glad it seems to be going so well for you both! I am so hesitant to try going out with DS with no nappy as it is such a v. long drive to the nearest town that even if we tried the potty before leaving and once we got there, it is still a long time in the car. Guess I will have to take the plunge eventually though!

LOL, Tiredmum how did you know we actually are saving to go to UK when DS is a bit older! Really if you ever do come here you will have to let me know and we will meet up! Doubt you'd be anywhere near our neck of the woods (we are v. far from anywhere a real plane would land, it is a big place), but I'd just tell DH we HAVE to pack up and travel to meet a Buddy Bencher who came all the way over the pond! He would think I was mad of course wondering what a Buddy Bench is, but he is lovely and supportive and would just have to go along with it! Don't be intrigued on mental picture I am so bad at that - you know the sort of picture you get in your mind of people who you talk to but haven't met, I am always so far off, look forward to seeing! Curious if my pic was far off your mental picture?
