Good afternoon ladies! How is everyone today?

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 17:08

I thought I may have killed thread last night! {grin]

How are you? My DD actually did really well on potty training today, so feeling

CheerfulYank · 05/06/2010 17:24

Good morning, all! (well it's still morning here at any rate!) Oooh, Mr Frosties sound delish...we have them here of course, they're just called other things. And kettle crisps and beer...mmmm! Good thing this food's all virtual or I'd have gained a on already!

I'm still doing diapers when we go out too, teaandcake. DS is only using his little potty, not a proper big toilet so I'm not sure how to proceed with that as yet.

It's totally true, gomummy! Also, the consequence of being blonde and, shall we say, bubbly , is that people expect you to have no sense whatsoever. The other day a few older men were discussing Paradise Lost at the bookstore where I go to drink free coffee and read the latest chicklit read large dusty philosophy tomes in original Greek . There was a lull in the conversation and I said, "Well, one of the most interesting things about Milton, I think, is..." and I got no further because they were staring at me as if I'd grown a second head! I am literate, thank you very much!

How's the weather there? It's raining buckets here, which is good for the grass but not for morale. I was sooo looking forward to a sunny Saturday.

CheerfulYank · 05/06/2010 17:24

Oh and YAY for tea's DD!

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 17:57

I'm blonde but am very very forgetful since children

CheerfulYank · 05/06/2010 18:02

Well at least someone thinks so, tea!

gomummygo · 05/06/2010 18:39

Hi Tea and Cheerful! LOL, I am also blonde and had similar experiences on a daily basis in my former career (v. high level exec type thing). Years ago I was bothered by it but more recently learned to quite enjoy laughing inside at what people will say when they think you are -ahem- less intelligent? LOL.

Tea that is GREAT for your DD! We went out today and bought real underwear. DS is delighted. I have not tried going out or nighttime without a diaper yet, though he is dry most mornings.

He's not into trying the poos yet though in any way. Just letting him do his thing in his own time. A little shocked that I am remaining so relaxed about all of it!

teaandcakeplease · 05/06/2010 18:52

Oh yeah 2 poo's today, oh yeah! Feels euphoric tbh after months of struggles! She had no nappy on and suddenly needed a No. 2 she panicked and told me she was pooing, I grabbed her and plonked her on toilet, she freaked and then after calming down then agreed to finish in potty (didn't want to do it on toilet) and did. Made a huge huge fuss of her and chocolate and then later in the day she told me she needed to go herself and went into the bathroom herself to do it.

My DD still wakes with a damp nappy, so she won't be going nappy free for sleeps just yet! Out tomorrow for my nephews dedication. May take travel potty and leave her in knickers for the day? Hard to decide, it's a 1hr 15 min drive in good traffic to their church.

I bought Peppa Pig knickers for my girl as she loves Peppa. Still need to buy a waterproof mattress protector though before I try being brave at night.

I'm surrounded by intelligent blonde woman it seems. Never was a high flier myself, just a paraplanner in financial services.

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 13:23

YAY tea's DD!! That is so great about the poo!!!

That's a tough one, good luck if you do decide to to the travel & dedication with knickers. Let us know how it goes! I bet Peppa will help; we are already hearing "No Pee on you Thomas!" Good luck!

Oh and Tea you seem a very intelligent blonde woman too!

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 17:57

No as intelligent as a lot of woman. Articulated, yes at times but my memmory if like a goldfish. So passing exams was always hard for me but coursework I was good at

She did knickers ALL day and was brilliant. Little accident in car on the way home as she fell asleep the whole way and must've done it whilst asleep. But it's all good, towel underneath her.

What's happening in your world GoMummy?

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 17:58

No = not
If = is

Sorry typing too fast and lacking attention to detail.

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 18:03

Dammit, he was dipping my hair brush in the loo. Should have gone through faster

elmofan · 06/06/2010 18:15

Sorry feel like I'm intruding here

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 18:20

elmofan · 06/06/2010 18:25

Tiredmumno1 · 06/06/2010 18:49

Evening all.

hoping your all well

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 19:46

Hellloooooo Tiredmum! How are you?

Tiredmumno1 · 06/06/2010 20:05

Cheers teaandcake, i need a strong drink after this week.

kids back to school tomorrow woohoo lol, i love them really.

heres hoping this week is better, i hope you have all been in the gazebo in rain

teaandcakeplease · 06/06/2010 20:16

I must have been lucky today Elmo and Tiredmum, as apart from a scattering of showers very briefly, it's just been cloudy here. Weather for tomorrow looks cloudy again here.

Love the gazebo idea!

Wish my kids went to school too Although DD does have half a morning in pre school tomorrow but she only goes Mon and Fri mornings right now still have DS to watch though.

elmofan · 06/06/2010 20:55

sorry just got the dc's to bed , ohh i have wine if anyone would like a glass ?

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 21:08

Welcome Elmofan, and good evening Tea and Tiredmum! And yes please, would love a glass of white...much needed after along day indoors. It didn't really rain much, but cold and blustery and overcast all day. Everyone seems sort of tired in this weather, but maybe it's just me... [yawning emoticon]

Tea your DD is doing so great! Do you put anything down in the carseat in case of accidents? I hate washing that cover/re-threading straps so was wondering if anything exists to protect it?

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 21:09

Meant to add - Empathy for you Elmo, we have done far too many jigsaws here to count today!

gomummygo · 06/06/2010 21:12

Tiredmum - meant to ask the other day - does the gazebo have a tin roof? I quite like a tin roof in the rain.

elmofan · 06/06/2010 21:17

thanks

my kitchen table is full of made up jigsaws that dd wont let me put away as she has plans of re-doing them all again in the morning lol

HairExtensions · 06/06/2010 21:26

Hi Girls!!

Have ya missed me? Bet you haven't you fuckers

I'm up to my eyes in organising this bloody house move but I'm really missing the bench although I've lost loads of virtual weight

How are you all? Any news?

Is Cheese OK? There was that really bad incident near her, must've been scary and so so sad
