Come hither all those who havent found their place on mumsnet, have scrapped in Aibu or crossed words in chat. The buddy bench shalt not judge.

The buddy bench will hand out wine and cakes, it will join you on your scoffathons getting pissed

All those who enter will have their sins erased and be given a warm welcome and cheerful chat from me, fucker, hairy, gomummy, tired mum and far, far too many more to mention.

Welcome to the buddy bench, we look forward to meeting you all

Hope not

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 19:18

OMG Cheesy that terrible, how incredibly fortunate that your niece wanted to come and see your kittens! Hope all of your family are safe and accounted for...

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 19:21

Yes Tea I think it will go fairly smoothly. We weren't planning to begin for a some time yet but he has started removing his own nappy (not that easy as it is cloth) and standing up in front of the potty and doing his thing all by himself. I'm thinking it's the "sign of readiness" we are to watch for, lol!

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 19:34

I'm soo jealous Gomummy

Mind you it's her poo's that are harder to train her to do than wee's

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 19:38

Don't be yet Tea; I tried to have him sit down on the potty two days ago and he was absolutely horrified at the idea of sitting down , so I expect the poo will be much more difficult for us!

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 19:46

Well my DD doesn't really like the potty but since I bought these she's loved it. Gets onto it herself with step up stool and loves being like mummy and isn't scared of falling into the loo

I did have one of these but she felt unstable and that it might move, it did sometimes too. She couldn't get onto it without help either.

If I could just crack the number 2's all would be well. Accept today she kept telling me she didn't need the loo, when she did and kept having accidents. Previous days haven't been so bad

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 19:54

The family seat looks really great Tea, I may just order one! Have never seen anything like it.

Guess it's like everything, we all have off days, especially learning something new. Hope you have easy-to-clean flooring!

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 19:58

Cheesy - is that what happened, do you know? The shooter just snapped from stress type thing? How aweful.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 20:00

I have lino in the bathroom (niiicccceeee Not)and carpets elsewhere, they're already yucky though tbh. As the lounge is also the dining area and despite my carpet 1001 applications, could do with a serious rugdoctor. I keep coveting buying a vax to wash carpet and keep in my cupboard for daily use. Too expensive though.

Being a flat no wooden floors are allowed in the terms of the lease. Tis a shame.

Well enough of my boring life, this thread is supposed to be upbeat and I'm bringing it down

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 20:31

Tis about camaraderie and support too! Carpet would be tough. I would love to have a vax too and only have carpet upstairs! On the list for when I win the lottery, lol!

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 20:33

So I read on t'interweb.

Psychologists are saying it could happen to anybody, food for thought eh ?

Been reading bbc news it's terrible. Listened to interview with cyclist on there too. So sad

CheerfulYank · 02/06/2010 22:23

That sounds just awful. I just can't imagine...

On the potty training side of things, I just sort of went cold turkey with a sweeping "no diapers in the house!" pronouncement. It's warm here so he's just been running around naked and I have various recepticles (sp?) scattered around. He's doing well with that, next we move on to actually using the toilet and not a plastic tub on the floor.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 22:57

Can't quite do that with a 16 month old in diapers still and it's the same size as her. He's also into everything, including reaching into the toilet right now. Certainly have my hands full it seems. Off to bed in a mo. Onwards and upwards tomorrow. Will try and be Uber happy tomorrow again with her and patient again. Please God?

gomummygo · 03/06/2010 00:16

Oh Tea you do have your hands full! Hopefully they're both good sleepers. My patience level directly correlates to the previous night's sleep it seems!

Second the reaching into the toilet thing - DS is v. concerned with rescuing toilet paper . He's ok with it until the flush, then it's "Oh no, mummy! Save it!"

Cheerful OMG @ "no diapers in the house!" I am impressed, you are so brave! Night time too? Let us know how it goes...

Have caught up on the news now, what a tragedy. Cheesy I hope all your family and friends are safe and well...

Nighty night all.
