My Russell Crowe addiction is seriously affected by -and this may be an overshare- ovulation! Seriously! Most of the time I'm all about the lean, clever looking guys. You know, the ones who look like they read a lot and like to hike. But for a day or two every month I completely lust after casually and chastely notice the big'uns.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 08:43

Cheerful - Know exactly what you mean!

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 13:15

Morning Cheerful & Tea!

Haven't seen Tiredmum in a bit, hope all is ok.

CheerfulYank · 02/06/2010 15:51

Good to know I'm not a freak teaandcake! I read an article about this recently and apparently the sort of man you're attracted to really does change depending on the cycle.

Morning, gomummy! I hope you're all right too, tired. Sending vibes your way!

Tiredmumno1 · 02/06/2010 16:19

helllloooo you lot, blimey its nice to be missed

i am fine though, just being kept busy, half term and all that.

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 16:45

Mmmm...ice cream...thanks Tiredmum! Glad you are well and still around.

Cheerful I read a similar article quite some time ago, it also said that women may subconsciously dress slightly differently at various times in their cycles? Always intended to observe myself to see if it was true but had forgotten about it entirely until I read your post.

What is everyone having for dinner tonight? Need ideas...

2blessed2bstressed · 02/06/2010 17:05

steak stir fry, with peppers and beansprouts, and black bean sauce, yum!

CheerfulYank · 02/06/2010 17:12

Ooh that sounds delicious. We're going out b/c some of DH's family are visiting from out of state. It's not even lunchtime here yet, though.

Of course you were missed Tired! Glad to know everything's fine.

Am thinking of calling daycare to see if DS can stay there and nap. (Usually I pick him up around noon.) He's been exhausted lately (playing outside more with the nice weather) and since we're going out tonight I'd like him to not be a cranky little thing. I feel kind of guilty but the thought of having few hours to lie around do lots of constructive things by myself is too much to resist.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 17:26

Cottage pie here.

Been a day of frustration for me as trying to potty train my DD but it's not going great.

CheerfulYank · 02/06/2010 17:31

Ugh, we;re in the thick of potty training too! how old is your DD?

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 17:35

Don't worry guys i'm still here. Can't believe some blokes been going round shooting people all day and I didnt hear a thing

She's 2 yrs and 5 months. But she's a bit of a madam. Probably my fault as I had my 2 DCs 17 months apart and then with my marriage breakdown and H leaving me for another woman she's had a tough time in the last year and none of its helped her and I've been a grumpy moo as well with it all.

Maybe I don't keep going with each new thing I try to persuade her and need more consistency

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 18:05

Shooting?

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 18:09

Yeah its on the news, 12 dead, god knows how many injured.

CheerfulYank · 02/06/2010 18:12

Sorry to hear it's been such a rough year for you teaandcake! You sound like you're managing marvelously. Ds will be 3 in July and needs to be totally in underwear by September for preschool. I feel that since he can look at me and say "I don't want underwear, Mama, I need a diaper. I'm not a big boy and I want diapers!" It's well past time he was trained.

Haven't heard about any shooting, that's awful!

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 18:16

In a dead quiet Cumbrian town too, so sad.

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 18:30

I'm getting confised she's 2yrs and 10 months, don't know how I did that she's also 3 end of July too.

Haven't watched news today yet. How horrid, that's awful!

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 18:31

*confused

Tiredmumno1 · 02/06/2010 18:37

The shooting news is terrible tis so sad..

i may be a bit late but dindins twas quiche

gomummygo · 02/06/2010 18:40

We're about to start potty training too, at DS request! So lots of empathy here for both of you. Tea it sounds as though you've had an aweful year and are dealing with it very well.

Cheesy, what is going on? A shooting? that's terrible! Haven't seen news yet, what is happening?

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 18:48

12 dead, 30 injured so far. I think, he was just driving around country lanes, villages etc shooting at people.

He shot himself at Boot (near Eskdale) where we very nearly went to for the day today but cancelled because my niece wanted to come and see our kittens.

Cheesey have you managed to get hold of your hubby and ds yet, fingers crossed you have.

so glad you didnt go

teaandcakeplease · 02/06/2010 18:59

Well you'll be ok then gomummy with a sticker chart and treats etc, if they're keen on it. I honestly think my DD would wear nappies forever if she could (slight exageration but you know what I mean).

Time to flip news on me thinks. Hope your family/ friends are all ok Cheesey

ApocalypseCheese · 02/06/2010 19:04

I can see this sort of thing happening more and more with the recession etc.

People are going to flip when the stress of tying to hold it all together pushes them over the edge.
