to really and truly wish death on this person?

If I had a magic wand I would wave it and wish the most awful death I could think of on the person that kicked to death my neighbours two year old Jack Russell yesterday. He ran off through the bushes, my neighbour followed and in the couple of miuntes the dog was out of sight he was kicked/bludgeoned to death. Police have been informed but are not hopeful.

Honestly, some people should just die.

Good point, well made.

I should have said except for vicious bastards who abuse defenseless animals because they are bullying bastards who don't deserve to live.

RedBlueRed · 02/04/2010 19:36

YANBU

I think violence towards animals is on a par with violence towards children. It's fairly sick behaviour and you are not unreasonable to wish death on someone who is capable of it.

I would point out that it only takes one well placed blow to the head to kill an animal (or a person for that matter). I hope it was that quick.

Alouiseg · 02/04/2010 19:37

I would gladly press the button btw before that old chestnut rears it's ugly head.

junglist1 · 02/04/2010 19:38

So do I. This thread is winding me up now. I wish I'd caught the one round my area, I really do. The thought of a dog screaming while people walked by is horrific. It was a spaniel

SMacK · 02/04/2010 19:39

'I can't imagine someone who could kick a dog till it died being scared of a Jack Russell'

This is exactly why I don't have any symapthy (With the dog owner, I am sad for the dog). Do you get a dog and then lose half your brain? Not everyone knows what the different breeds or or sees any as less frightening than another. For lots of people a dog is a dog is a dog and they have the right to go about their business without the inteference or fear of any.

" they have the right to go about their business"

Not if that involved beating an animal to death

onagar · 02/04/2010 20:01

I was going to say that I'm with the OP on that one, but is there a suggestion that it leapt at someone?.

If so that is entirely different. Killing a dog just for fun is terrible, but if a dog leaps at me then I will certainly disable it as quickly as possible and if it dies that's tough.

RedBlueRed · 02/04/2010 20:05

The behaviour of the dog during its absence is speculation.

onagar · 02/04/2010 20:07

Rereading that it seems more likely it was hit by a car and thrown back anyway

Alouiseg · 02/04/2010 20:28

onagar Were you there? No! thought not.

junglist1 · 02/04/2010 20:32

I hope it was a car TBH

It definitely wasn't hit by a car. I know the bit of park and it isn't possible. He should def have had his eyes on the dog, who can be a bit of a bolter. But it has never been vindictive, or aggressive, and was very friendly and a lovely little chap.

So yes, someone just happened to be walking along who killed the dog by stamping/kicking/bludgeoning it it the couple of minutes it was out of sight. Life is shit like that sometimes.

junglist1 · 02/04/2010 20:34

I hope whoever did it doesn't have pets

Alouiseg, I'm speculating because no one was there and no one knows what happened. Ask a grown up to explain that to you.

sheas · 02/04/2010 20:43

UTTER, UTTER SCUM, what the hell is wrong with people who do things like this????

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 02/04/2010 21:03

I am more confused than ever now.

How do we know this dog has been kicked to death and not hit by a cyclist or similar?
It's all pure speculation.
Everyone agrees that if it is the former, the person who did it is deserving of a harsh punishment (though some have gone too far imo, with calls for a violent death)

rainbowinthesky · 02/04/2010 21:04

SOunds far more likely someone did it out of fear or he was hit by a cyclist or car.

mummeee · 02/04/2010 21:09

YANBU at all. If someone beat a dog (or cat or insert pet of choice) to death, I do hope they end in the same fate.

BetsyBoop · 02/04/2010 21:14

as no one actually witnessed what happened in the minutes that the dog was missing, it is all just speculation as to exactly what happened.

...but don't let a lack of facts stop some of you sitting round the guillotine with your knitting needles clicking...

junglist1 · 02/04/2010 21:23

The OP says it wasn't a car and she knows the area so there you go. So a "person" did it.

ShowOfHands · 02/04/2010 21:25

Thank God we live in a civilised society.

Because if somebody has deliberately killed an animal in that way, it is an atrocious and despicable thing.

But baying for blood and screeching about capital punishment is disgusting.

rainbowinthesky · 02/04/2010 21:29

Quite right, showofhands.
