paisleyleaf · 21/02/2010 13:51

Towards the top of your page, click 'Acronyms'

skidoodle · 21/02/2010 13:51

there is a glossary. read it and shut up moaning FFS.

MrsBadger · 21/02/2010 13:52

glassary here

(NB it's gobbledygook' )

Habbibu · 21/02/2010 13:53

irony overload on the spelling front. But then I'm in Scotland. We don't have abbreviations here.

Goblinchild · 21/02/2010 13:53

Top of the page there is a line
Looks like this

Talk: Topics | Customise | Unanswered messages | Getting started | Acronyms | Useful stuff

Acronyms means letters that stand for something else. Like YABU.
And as a 49 year old teacher, can you give the name of this country a capital letter please?
England. :P

MamaG · 21/02/2010 13:54

NB: it's glossary Mrs B

Igglybuff · 21/02/2010 13:54

Welome cligan. Let me suggest you look near the top of your screen and click acronyms. That'll sort you.

When I first joined, I had a quick skim and it's easy enough. You don't even need to use text smilies :p you can use the emoticons to really express how you feel

by the way, YABU .

diddl · 21/02/2010 13:54

YANBU.

It´s a bit twee imo.

"AuntieFlo"!!??

elmofan · 21/02/2010 13:55

lol - ds = dear son
dd = dear daughter
dh = dear hubby
dp = dear partner
etc , oh & they are all explained at the top of the page under the heading " ACRONYMS"
welcome to m/n

notwavingjustironing · 21/02/2010 13:55

the correct use of an apostrophe would be welcomed too!

Habbibu · 21/02/2010 13:56

Dors anybody here really use AuntieFlo, or even AF? I thought we were all much too blunt for that.

cligan · 21/02/2010 13:56

well, you didnt have to waste your time to look and write if you didnt want to hear people moan on a am i being unreasonable thread :P iiijiot :P coz i was getting annoyed with it, if it hurts you so why click on a moany link!! it wont bother you till you bother yourself by involving yourself!!!!

OP posts:

You might want to investigate the use of your shift key, too. Only using lowercase is so 20th Century.

Caitni · 21/02/2010 14:01

Interesting to me that your old-fashioned values don't extend to using proper pronunciation and spelling. So imho YABU to be so irritated by acronyms designed to save time typing. Especially when it's so easy to find the Acronyms at the top of any page on the talk boards.

Igglybuff · 21/02/2010 14:01

cligan not need to be calling people iiijiots!

It's idiots

er and I think you've got it wrong. If you don't want confrontation, don't post in the AIBU topic

cligan · 21/02/2010 14:01

posting*

n yea i never meant to say i was perfect either. got teachers on my case for one letter :P i know its important, but there is alot worse to deal with in this great land of kids getting out of school not knowing what 1+1 is. :P

Goblinchild · 21/02/2010 14:03

I have a 19 year old, I'll wait until you find your sensible head and bolt it on.

cligan · 21/02/2010 14:03

i wasnt looking for any, i just wanted a glossary. got it now thanks and goodnight overreactives >.

OP posts:
Igglybuff · 21/02/2010 14:04

Can I ask nicely? Please stop doing the :p

Megletwantsittobesummer · 21/02/2010 14:05

Just had a peek at your profile and you might want to re-consider having your RL name on there.

janeite · 21/02/2010 14:06

Goobaltigoop - is that the new special at the curry house?

I think Cligan is actually an oldie who is bored.

Goblinchild · 21/02/2010 14:06

Goodnight?
Oh to be 19 again and able to make sweeping generalisations backed by nothing but an armflail and a raised voice.
Are we going to need a door-slamming icon now?
