How hurt (if at all) would you be if someone you were fairly close to told you they were pregnant and the due date was your wedding date (which had been booked for 2 years)?

I wouldn't be in any way hurt.

I would be congratulation my friend.

honeybehappy · 16/09/2009 13:48

are you having a larf why would you be hurt?

CMOTdibbler · 16/09/2009 13:48

Not at all - you can't expect people to put their lives on hold for a wedding

MarkStretch · 16/09/2009 13:48

You can plan a wedding.

You can't always plan a pregnancy.

Scorps · 16/09/2009 13:48

I would be chuffed for them

How odd to get upset over that; I'm due Xmas Day and you can't pick your EDD!

smallorange · 16/09/2009 13:48

would not be hurt - i would be delighted for them(you may have a small baby at your wedding though!)

Lizzylou · 16/09/2009 13:49

I wouldn't be even vaguely hurt, just pleased for my friend, wouldn't even cross my mind to be cross.

meltedmarsbars · 16/09/2009 13:49

Usually we all get preggers after drinking too much AT the wedding!

ThePhantomPlopper · 16/09/2009 13:49

CONGRATULATING my friend not congratulation my friend. Sorry

GypsyMoth · 16/09/2009 13:49

not at all hurt, not in the slightest!!

why??
its just a wedding!!

StealthPolarBear · 16/09/2009 13:49

not at all hurt, they might have been ttc for 5 years! Even if they hadn't I doubt it was done with malice??
(Although I have a feeling -- are you the pg one?)

bumpsoon · 16/09/2009 13:49

Not at all , im sure she didnt do it on purpose ,the date thing ,not the pregnancy obviousley

paisleyleaf · 16/09/2009 13:49

Is it you who's pregnant?

pagwatch · 16/09/2009 13:49

I would not in a million years expect anyone to plan their family around my wedding day.

Is this a crazy day or something.

Or is this AIBU by stealth and someone you know is upset that you or somone else is due on their wedding day?

weegiemum · 16/09/2009 13:49

If you are cross about this, you are being a bridezilla.

Carrotfly · 16/09/2009 13:49

Are you devastated then ?

Odd.

neenz · 16/09/2009 13:50

Why hurt? I am sure she didn't plan it that way.

When you want a baby you want a baby and there will always be something getting in the way so you just have to go for it.

Is she expecting you to change the wedding date? If so SIBU, if not YABU

5inthebed · 16/09/2009 13:50

Wouldn't be hurt at all. I'd be very pleased for her. I'm sure she wouldn't have done it intentially! Nobody is that good at getting pregnant!

OrmIrian · 16/09/2009 13:50

It's a shame but I wouldn't be hurt.

MrsWatson · 16/09/2009 13:50

I would think that the OP is the one who is pregnant and her friend is miffed because she's going to be due to her wedding day.

If that is the case, I would question your friendship with her. What friend would put their wedding day over and above your new baby? She must be a very shallow and selfish person and I would probably advise that you would be better off without her spoiling the birth of your new baby.

3littlefrogs · 16/09/2009 13:50

Why would I be hurt? That would imply that the person was brilliant at planning and conceiving, and did it all on purpose. I never met anyone who could plan a conception with that degree of accuracy!

I might feel sad or disappointed, but not hurt. Then I would try very hard to put a smile on my face and congratulate them.

so they are not allowed to get pg near your wedding???talk about self centred.

perhaps they have been trying for years, and it was a fluke, perhaps it was an accident but they have decided to go through with it, perhaps they cannot believe they got lucky first time.....whatever the case you should be happy for them

what if your friend loses the baby? will you secretly be pleased, as it fits your plans better

GypsyMoth · 16/09/2009 13:52

is it a pregnant bridesmaid??

50ftQueenie · 16/09/2009 13:52

Oh how inconsiderate! You should have included a "Do not have sex between the following dates..." in your save the date cards, just to be on the safe side.
FFS! If this it is you that's getting married you're a pretty rubbish mate.
