AIBU Books Game Part 4

MoominMymbleandMy · 17/07/2009 19:54

Well, we made it to a fourth thread!

As before, we frame an AIBU from the point of view of a character in a book and everyone tries to guess the book and/or the character.

Everyone welcome to play/time-waste as much or as little as they please.

New thread, new AIBU...

AIBU to refuse to read aloud?

have settled for a dance in the style of peter crouch

cj....he isn't in the film bizz is he?

MoominMymbleandMy · 06/08/2009 23:18

Ooh, lucky thing, CJ, that's one of the wickedly over-priced, hard to find ones. I have told the DD she will just have to read them out of sequence.

...I'm not a schoolboy - I'm a beast!

I'm feeling very uninspired tonight, I'm afraid. Any chance of another clue, please?

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 06/08/2009 23:23

moomin are you also called vermin?

CJCregg · 06/08/2009 23:23

No, not in the film biz. So I decided, if he can behave badly over there I can have a bit of fun here, and this slightly crazy but very sweet American (who's doing my DH's job while he's away) turns out to be rather fun. We're quite a houseful, what with the pregnant young girl as well ...

Moomin, more clues please! I'll lend you the Cricket Term when your DD needs it. Galloping through it, I am, and developing a bit of a crush on Jan Scott!

MoominMymbleandMy · 06/08/2009 23:44

Aww, CJ, you are really lovely but you mustn't tempt me because I think we'd have to take out a second mortgage to replace it if it got lost in the post!

Now, are you married to an academic who's doing a job swap?

Polly, I'm sure you dance much more gracefully than Peter Crouch.

...I'm not vermin. I live in water so I'm washing all the time. And I told that rude wretch I was just as clean he was...

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 07/08/2009 10:40

moomin...that should be disgracefully!
are you a prawn being spoken to by a jewish person?

pollywobbledoodle · 07/08/2009 10:44

or a waterbaby with a chimney sweep?

Poledra · 07/08/2009 12:29

Hi all

No idea on anyone else's.

....I am not a critter, though there are those who might think I am...... my guardian is so obsessed with him, I have demanded a replacement. And I know just the one. She's a dollmaker. I can't do it myself, so I need my guardian to make her. His conscience is bothering him - pity it didn't all those years ago when I was made......

Hmm, might be making it a bit obvious there, but need to go - DD3 is climbing on the table

pollywobbledoodle · 07/08/2009 12:55

hi pol, no idea unless you are pinocchio!!

pollywobbledoodle · 07/08/2009 12:57

oops, just realised you're a girl

llandb · 07/08/2009 22:14

Just waving hello! Trenchfoot and sunburn here!
'Night!

Pogleswood · 07/08/2009 23:11

Everyone's back!

Pol,yours keeps making me think of 'Coppelia' - but can't produce a relevant book!

Poledra · 07/08/2009 23:18

Pogle, I can see why you might think that, but it's sooooo not

.....He made her for me!! I needed a mother and now I don't need my guardian any more. Now, as long as what we did in the New World remains undiscovered, I can be happy......

MoominMymbleandMy · 08/08/2009 12:35

Pogle, great minds are...equally baffled because I was wondering if someone had written a sequel to Coppelia. Obviously not so I'm back to stumped mode.

...And when he wanted to leave my friends to drown I told him he could keep his old Ark...

Wow you lot are clever! I do still read this thread, but haven't even come close to answering one in ages. Either senility has finally set in, or I need to read some more intellectual books.

Just a quick one, though - AIBU to be surprised that someone only has fake food in their house?

MoominMymbleandMy · 08/08/2009 13:31

Hi Sunny, you're always welcome . It is a bit U when you had the cheek to break and enter in the first place!

And I'm not feeling one bit clever at the moment, especially on Poledra's - which now isn't ringing even the faintest of bells.

OP posts:
Poledra · 08/08/2009 18:36

....he's come back! The one we thought we'd killed in the New World - he's not gone and he's found us. I don't know what they will do to us - we've broken the rules of killing our own kind.
I really thought he was dead - we poisoned him, cut his throat, threw him in the swamp, burned the house when he returned - how has he survived? And worse, how shall I survive once he tells the others what we've done?........

Pogleswood · 08/08/2009 18:48

wow,Pol - this is gripping! Perhaps you could just post the entire book for us to enjoy!

are you undead??

Poledra · 08/08/2009 18:55

I am indeed undead, Pogle

Pogleswood · 08/08/2009 19:02

Not that that helps me..! (Don't think I've read any books of that genre set in Europe)
Will ponder some more...

MoominMymbleandMy · 08/08/2009 19:18

OK, quite sure I've never read your one, Poledra! I'm sure I would have remembered a Rasputin vampire.

...What did we need with his old Ark anyway. All turtles can swim very well. But it might be tricky to save the two humans...

OP posts:
Poledra · 08/08/2009 21:01

...They're going to expose me to daylight, along with my new guardian. No, please, don't I'm just a little girl.....

pollywobbledoodle · 08/08/2009 22:29

hello, brief visit!
pol wild stabs as i've not read them but is it one of the twilight books?

Poledra · 08/08/2009 22:45

Sorry, Polly, I haven't read the Twilight books either, so that's a no.

Not sure what other clues I can give now as I've turned to dust under the sun.....

Pogleswood · 08/08/2009 23:49

Haven't read it ,Pol,but is this the swedish vampire book on my 'to-read'list?? (and if it is,do I want to read it ?)

Sorry you've turned to dust...
