Please tell me i'm not the only one sick to my stomach at what the Bristol family are putting that 18 month old baby girl through on a daily basis.

The lady going into the home with the child walked into:

  • cat faeces all over the floor/around the litter tray.
  • Baby having crisps for breakfast as mum didn't get up til 11.30 and then it was 'make do'.
  • fag butts squashed out behind the bathroom taps.
  • Such a state of squalor she wanted to puke up.

HeavyweightChampion · 21/06/2009 20:53

4 + 1 at 9pm?

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 20:55

Why isn't it on "social services spectacular" rather than wife swap???

Alambil · 21/06/2009 20:57

poor family sounds like they need some help

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:00

Right got it on for a look

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:03

Ok I already hate the bristol woman

Noonki · 21/06/2009 21:07

what a lazy bint.

BitOfFun · 21/06/2009 21:08

This looks like it's going to be carcrash tv- am I going to be able to stand to watch it?

Sorry, but I've got my judgeypants hitched RIGHT UP...

BitOfFun · 21/06/2009 21:09

God, the daughter looks like she smelt something awful when she shook her hand. Perhaps she did?

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:09

Hope this might shame her in to being a better person

BitOfFun · 21/06/2009 21:10

Aaargh! She's glued to the PC all day apparently- I hope to god she's not on here!

MIAonline · 21/06/2009 21:11

thread here

There was a thread about this in TV topic.

I am mixed about whether they should show it really. I think it opens peoples eyes to what goes on on some families, but I agree with a post that says that the child didn't agree to it and I do often wonder about the continuing use of children in reality TV and how we are bystanders in what often verges on child neglect/abuse.

merlinthehappypig · 21/06/2009 21:12

Did you see her sitting at the computer smoking a fag whilst her dd was in the same room? Ffs at least hang out the window and smoke.

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:15

Poor child, poor child's dad.

How can anyone have so little respect for themself, their child, their partner and their home??

rookiemater · 21/06/2009 21:18

I think in this case that being on this show is the one chance that poor child has of a decent life.

Hopefully the mother will watch the programme and feel ashamed and want to make things better, but in my heart I know she will claim to be tired because of being pregnant, then will claim to be tired because of having a new baby and the whole thing will deteroriate again.

Or maybe the father, who whilst he is a doormat seemed reasonably sensible will wise up to whats going on and put his foot down.

I mean FFS she can put a slice of toast on for herself but not for her poor child.

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:18

Did she just say being a mother is the hardest job in the world?? How would she know she is not fit to be called a mother

ThePhantomPlopper · 21/06/2009 21:19

Wasn't nice was it?!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 21/06/2009 21:19

This is just horrific.

Marthasmama · 21/06/2009 21:19

I think this might make me cry if I watch much more. That poor little girl. That's no way for a little girl to live.

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:19

What a lovely little girl.

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 21:20

Oh dear I am welling up and I only saw from her taking the baby out of the cot.

DH is horrified.
