Please tell me i'm not the only one sick to my stomach at what the Bristol family are putting that 18 month old baby girl through on a daily basis.

That's what nearly tipped me over the edge too lovelytin. She's such a poppet too.

giraffesCantRunA10k · 21/06/2009 21:22

I am watching it on C4 plus1. SS needs to be involved - thats emotional neglect, and neglect in terms of leaving nappy and the food.

Ronaldinhio · 21/06/2009 21:22

yabu

she seemed pretty happy to me and to be fair her mother seemed to take on board a lot of what she learned in the other household

not everyone knows what to do or not to do and some of us are the products of our own upbringing

that blond mum also seemed like a nutter imho

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:24

OMG there are cats on the work surfaces. Vomit.

This woman is out of breath taking off a sheet FFS

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 21:25

Ah well I haven't seen the end of it though!

Leaving an 18mo in cot every day til 1.30 and then giving it crisps is surely dreadful though whichever way you look at it.

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:26

Lazy lazy lazy

the lovely baby must have cried and cried at some point to want to go out of it's bed before then, and now just accepts it

BitOfFun · 21/06/2009 21:27

Theres another thread on this, I've just noticed. Apparently she's a mumsnetter- my theory is she is Hughjarssss

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:28

I can not for the life of me understand why/how people live in such filth, FFS she is sat on her lardy arse all day, clean your house you lazy slut

katiestar · 21/06/2009 21:29

What time was it on will it still be on C4+1 ??

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 21:29

The DH seems to be cooking proper food, looking after baby playing etc so maybe he is providing nutrition and emotional needs etc.

Ronaldinhio · 21/06/2009 21:29

Just a ponder but what would we automatically think if it were husbands doing this???

For all her slatternly ways the child seemed fed and very happy...not to everyone;s taste or standard but there is no abuse there

ra29needsabettername · 21/06/2009 21:31

I found it very depressing to watch and agree that that poor baby is very deprived but I find some of your comments pretty horrible too...

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 21:31

I would think it was awful if it was the dad as well. It's the staying in cot til 1.30 thing which did for me.

X-posts though the dad seems very nice so is maybe going a long way to counteract the mums ways. And would be the same if vice versa.

ginormoboobs · 21/06/2009 21:32

I missed the first 20 mins. Can I view it online?

ICouldKillMyExThisMinute · 21/06/2009 21:33

I was wondering if she was a Mumsnetter, specially after she said at the end that she was controlling how much time she was now spending on Internet.

PaulaYatesMum · 21/06/2009 21:35

did not see show but at comments
my baby often sleeps all morning - sll mine hsve slept an awful lot
it can be midday and that would not be unusual

giraffesCantRunA10k · 21/06/2009 21:35

Examples include ignoring or rejecting a child, giving him or her the silent treatment. link

and NSPCC Neglect is the persistent lack of appropriate care of children, including love, stimulation, safety, nourishment, warmth, education and medical attention. It can have a serious effect on a child's physical, mental and emotional development. For babies and very young children, it can be life-threatening.

I am a childline councellor if someone phoned up about this child I would immediately have a supervisor over and be doing risk assessment.

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:35

I think Steve needs to grow a pair

Noonki · 21/06/2009 21:36

there is neglect though ronaldinhio

leaving a child in a cot til midday is neglect
feeding it crisps everyday for breakfast is neglect

ignoring her for 6 hours when the mother is on the computer is neglect. (I don't mn when my DSs are awake because I would do a rubbish job)

Kimi · 21/06/2009 21:37

That baby is so very lovely she deserves a proper mother

MrKrabs · 21/06/2009 21:37

How cna oyu be OFFENDED by this?

LovelyTinOfSpam · 21/06/2009 21:38

paulayatesmum the baby isn't asleep though. It's left with a couple of bottles of milk (not sure when they are put in the cot - missed the beginning of the program) and has learnt to play quietly in its cot til gone lunchtime cos mum is asleep.

I at least get the my little tyke up and feed her then lie on the sofa resting my eyes!
