Please tell me i'm not the only one sick to my stomach at what the Bristol family are putting that 18 month old baby girl through on a daily basis.

I have to admit, I find it very interesting how many people on this thread seem to think that the situation is everyone's fault but the mother's.

The mother neglecting her baby through the day is entirely down to her. She may have reasons for doing so, but it isn't the dad's fault and it isn't the crew's fault and it isn't the fault of the visiting wife.

That's not my impression Morloth.

I think people were saying that it IS the mother's responsibility that she apparantly lies in bed etc, BUT that once the filming is in process, everyone else is implicated if they continue to replicate her behaviour.

No the fathjer was in the other room .And it was the crew member who called for him not the hairdresser.
(watched it again to make sure)

A nice cop out response to my email to Channel 4 :

Thank you for your comments about WIFE SWAP. I would like to assure you that Channel 4 takes its obligations andresponsibilities seriously with regard to contributors to programmes, bothadults and children. We select all our contributors very carefully, andobtain advice from a range of people, including psychologists and otherexpert professionals about the suitability of people to take part in theseries. Our aim is that the households in each programme might learnsomething constructive from each other. During the filming there is always amember of the crew present, and although the programme is filmed in thestyle of an observational documentary, we are always conscious of ourongoing responsibilities towards the contributors, which would include thecrew stepping in if they felt that the situation warranted it. In Sunday?s episode, Kelly Moyston began the swap as a self-confessed ?lazymum?. But during the course of the swap Kelly had what she would describe asa wake-up call. As a result of appearing in the programme she made a numberof very positive changes in how she brings up baby Georgina ? as documentedat the end of the film. Georgina now gets up no later than 9.30a.m., has ahealthier diet and she and Kelly (and husband Steve) regularly go to thechildren?s play centre featured in the film. Kelly also spends far less timeon the computer ? as seen at the end of the programme. We have been in frequent contact with Kelly since filming and she hascontinued to make changes to her routine. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate allfeedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise. Regards, Cassie SingerChannel 4 Viewer Enquiries
