to think Mumset is a whole lot better post-Mouldiegate?

Genuine observation here, not trying to stir anything. It just seems a lot less cliquey and bum-licky. My replies are recognised and appreciated. I hope newbies feel welcomed and that there isn't some barrier that you have to cross in order to become 'popular'.

Well?

I recognise and appreciate your thread!

Mintyy · 21/05/2009 13:35

Hmmmmm. I think I'm on the fence on this one.

wilkos · 21/05/2009 13:35

defo much more pleasant and less cliquey

ProfYaffle · 21/05/2009 13:37

I totally agree, I post more these days than I used to.

reach4sky · 21/05/2009 13:38

Yes it doesn't feel so stale.

mrsshackleton · 21/05/2009 13:38

yanbu, I've been away for a bit and just returned. Everyone seems to be taken at face value now rather than judged by their longevity here.

I do miss pph though and her luxury holiday dilemmas

traceybath · 21/05/2009 13:40

Much nicer although still lots of oldies around under different names if i'm not mistaken.

wannaBe · 21/05/2009 13:41

much more pleasant? so threads that lead to personal attacks and people leaving mn and people calling social services on other posters is more pleasant?

Picante · 21/05/2009 13:43

Well obviously not. I'm talking as a whole. I didn't read those threads.

Wannabe i know what you mean but you'll always get that on a public forum to a degree. When i first came to MN i was frequently ignored when more prominent posters had there backsides licked, you don't get so much of that now.

Northernlurker · 21/05/2009 13:45

I struggle with seeing anything as upsetting as Mouldiegate as a POSITIVE as such.

However - if the whole farrago made everybody reflect on how welcoming and accepting of one another we are - or aren't, then that is definately a good thing!

ahundredtimes · 21/05/2009 13:46

I don't think it is better. I think I might have liked it more before - it was definitely funnier then. I liked the mix really. It feels a bit one-note now.

mrsruffallo · 21/05/2009 13:46

YANBU
I think it's been a good thing overall. A much nicer, less cliquey place, I do agree.

Can someone tell me briefly what Mouldies was? I was off mn for about 6 months and came back to read loads of allusions about Mouldies, I haven't a clue what it is and if I have asked on a thread the replies have been very cagey

mrsruffallo · 21/05/2009 13:48

There were never any personal attacks in the good old days eh?

wannaBe · 21/05/2009 13:48

I also think this thread has been deliberately started to cause a fight.

Northernlurker · 21/05/2009 13:48

wannabe - I think it is completely out of order to bring up that matter of social services. In the case i think you are referring to the rights and wrongs of the situation were debated at length. it is my opnion that mumsnet is at it's most effective when action is taken, when it isn't just a talking shop and the action that was taken in that case was done to protect children and the poster in question. You are quite simply wrongheaded if you see that as a negative.

wolfnipplechips · 21/05/2009 13:49

tmmj I don't like troll being shouted all the time i read the kay4matt thread and thought how sad.
