Thinking these policies might work for an MEP? (albeit maybe not Katie Hopkins)

Fledge · 13/05/2009 13:35

Katie Hopkins' character has been discussed to death. Let's talk policies for mumsnet.

Let's pretend it could be Ruth Badger standing as an MEP, or Jordan, or a WAG, or Cameron from Big Brother, or Will Young, Alexandra Burke (X Factor), or Jade (Eurovision).... you get the point.

So here are the policies... and remember Tony Blair's Pledge card was even shorter when you read them...

Britain and Europe ? Involved but not dissolved

Voting numbers fell below 50% in the last European elections in 2004 - way below the number voting in reality TV shows. ???? is taking an independent stand for integrity, putting real people at the heart of democracy.

INTEGRITY
A straight talker taking an independent stand for Integrity

A stand for open and honest democracy where everyday people make the decisions based on common sense.

ARMED FORCES

An ex-army woman speaking up for armed forces and their families

A stand for a higher standard of life on base, in theatre and at home.

SMALL BUSINESS

A small business owner supporting job creators and income providers

A stand for building a prosperous economy from the bottom up.

THE ROCK
A west country woman wanting to give a real voice to Gibraltar.

?The people here are straight talkers. Politicians never answer the question, I am standing as someone who is prepared to tell it like it is.?

WORKING MOTHERS

A mother of three small children championing
women at work [Ed. substitute facts as necessary - mother/aunt/uncle/cousin/godparent/brother/sister]

A stand to support womens ambitions in business.

FARMERS AND FISHERMEN

A daughter of a farming family respecting small producers

A stand for British farmer?s rights to a sustainable income, and our fishermen?s rights to fish British waters first.

BY WAY OF COMPARISON:Tony Blair's 2005 Pledge Card:

[http://www.independent.co.uk/news/blairs-six-pledges-set-battle-lines-for-the-general-ele ction-1530163.html]

THE PLEDGE CARD

1 Your family better off: Continuing policies which have "delivered economic prosperity".

2 Your family treated better and faster: Reiterating details in the health five-year plan.

3 Your children achieving more: Wrapping up promises such as all secondary schools' specialist status.

4 Your children with the best start: Child care, children's centres and out-of-school activities.

5 Your community safer: Labour's law and order pitch.

6 Your country's borders protected: Promises of action on immigration.

what on earth is this crap?
are you actually katie herself?
anyway, anyone who wants to treat immigrants with even more contempt than they are treated already can just piss off as far as i am concerned. immigrant children are held in detention in the uk, some of them are genuine asylum seekers who have fled civil wars, genocides, rapes, burnings, assaults, trafficking and god knows what else, and this dingbat is worried about protecting our borders????? i'd like some protection for our children. whether they are immigrants or not.

ffs

Listen Katie or her campaign Manager bugger the hell off we will not submit to your rubbish

I don't think there is a single Mumsnetter on here that will vote for Katie

Come talk to us when you can show how Miss Katie Hopkins is able to achieve all the above what is she actually going to do for us this country and how she is going to go about it as far as I am concerned and many others no doubt we have heard it all before!!!!

pingping · 13/05/2009 13:43

Agreed Reallylost

pingping · 13/05/2009 13:43

Mumsnet the eyes in the sky is this allowed all this campaign rubbish

VinegarTits · 13/05/2009 13:47

reallylostitnow · 13/05/2009 13:48

i am not sure but i really like your talkname vinegar!!!

Lizzylou · 13/05/2009 13:51

Have reported, bugger off Katie/Katie's Dad.

VinegarTits · 13/05/2009 13:51

Thanks

reach4sky · 13/05/2009 13:54

Well I must say, it's very satisfying to have all my prejudices about that vile Hopkins woman so thoroughly confirmed.

pingping · 13/05/2009 13:54

Hi VT its been a long time how you been?

This person is campaigning for us to vote Katie Hopkins in the European elections its not going down to well for her/ him since Katie has a rep of being a husband stealer

ForeverOptimistic · 13/05/2009 13:54

I don't understand. Are you Katie's stalker? You clearly care a lot about her.

If you are Katie, I would advise you to stick to TV work you were actually quite entertaining on The Apprentice. People won't take you seriously in politics because you are too fickle.

pingping · 13/05/2009 13:56

Whoever it is is smart putting all them celeb names in so when you google it comes up with this thread. Mumsnet need to pull it down

VinegarTits · 13/05/2009 13:58

I've been good thanks PP

I dont watch the apprentice, so not very familar with that 'katie hoppkins' character, she sounds like a right folk tounged wench

Bramshott · 13/05/2009 14:00

Frankly I couldn't care whether Katie Hopkins is a husband stealer or not (surely it's up to husbands whether they want to get 'stolen'), or has been on the Apprentice, but THESE ARE NOT POLICIES!!! They are bland statements which mean nothing.

wolfnipplechips · 13/05/2009 14:00

Ben Waines wife i think you should watch out.

pingping · 13/05/2009 14:01

Glad to hear it

Well the woman in question annouced very proudly how she is a professional husband stealer. She is an awful woman

reallylostitnow · 13/05/2009 14:02

is katie hopkins the blonde one on the apprentice now? i am so out of touch its just not funny!

pingping · 13/05/2009 14:04

No she is from a previous year

AMumInScotland · 13/05/2009 14:12

She's fed up of being a forgotten non-celebrity and decided to get some publicity by going into "politics", though this list of "policies" makes it clear how much of a numpty she is at that too. I've reported this too, on the basis that three threads all intended to puff up a nobody is beyond a joke.

wolfnipplechips · 13/05/2009 14:13

Woops me too i'm sick of her already. Shameless Hussy.

reallylostitnow · 13/05/2009 14:17

also those policies are a load of old gibberish, they are meaningless, you might as well say 'i am standing for some good things' - half that stuff an MEP has no say over anyway. for crying out loud, i despair. or dispair? despair ithink.

pingping · 13/05/2009 14:17

Looool @ Shameless Hussy

MummyDragon · 13/05/2009 14:20

Katie Hopkins is the one off The Apprentice who said that she had no patience for stay-at-home mothers who puree things. The fact that she dares show her face on MN simply beggars belief. So she's finally developed a tolerance for us lesser mortals? B*llocks. Talk about shameless hikacking of a non-biased, non-political talk forum to put across your own biased, self-serving agenda. Bugger off Katie, there's a love.

In fact I hate myself for posting on this thread, as we are improving her Google rankings simply by responding to her. Come on everyone, do NOT respond to any more posts from Fledge.

TheCrackFox · 13/05/2009 14:22

These are not policies, they are issues. We have no idea where Katie stands on any of these issues.

Katie, your 15 minutes of fame are up.

reallylostitnow · 13/05/2009 14:26

dare i say it?????

katie - YOU'RE FIRED
