And does this make me a miserable old quichey cliquer?

Cod, Tutter, Hunker, JV, Greeny et al.
All gone.

Even I thought last night that I might take some time off FGS.

flourybaps · 13/10/2008 12:09

yes yabu in my (very new and not an old timer at all but still enjoying being on here) opinion.

Its an open internet forum, things will change new people - like me - will come long, try and make us welcome, you might like us.

Oliveoil · 13/10/2008 12:09

do you know, I came on here for 5 MINS and am still sat here

I am hereby telling myself to fcuk off and go and sort out some house stuff

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 13/10/2008 12:14

aaaaah, back in the day when we all left our doors open all day and children played in the street....

things change, tis their nature I'm afraid.

Cappuccino · 13/10/2008 12:14

I think that every time you click 'refresh' it has new hope attached

tbh every time I did it a couple of years back, something fun happens

now it happens occasionally

oo you are one of my faves btw

VinegARGHHHTits · 13/10/2008 12:15

MN hasnt changed afaik, just a few people have got better things to do left

beanieb · 13/10/2008 12:16

It does make you sound a bit cliquey TBH.

I use mumsnet a lot and have been using it more since a board I am a regular on went a bit tits up. That board is not parenting and child related but I did make a lot of friends there and count many of them as RL friends now. Sadly board politics means that several people have left and we don't seem to be attracting new people so all the conversation is a bit stale.

I think you should count yourselves lucky that this place is at least fast moving and interesting. Yes it's nice to have familiar faces around but there's nothing stopping you chatting to all the other people on here and starting new 'In' joles or fun.

Also - I may be fairly new but I would bet my meagre savings on Cod coming back.

VinegARGHHHTits · 13/10/2008 12:19

tmmj

No more dates since the last horror, but thinking of getting myself a man for xmas (just for xmas though, not for life or anything) will keep you updated

VictorianSqualorSquelchNSquirm · 13/10/2008 12:19

I'm not against new people beanie.
I'm relatively new.
However there is a new troll thread every couple of days and posters leaving all over the place. It wasn't like that when I first joined.

OP posts:
beanieb · 13/10/2008 12:21

Ah - Well maybe Christmas will bring fun and frollicks?

francagoestohollywood · 13/10/2008 12:31

cod left??? when?

BouncingTurtleSkulls · 13/10/2008 12:32

VS - I'm with you... there has been some very nasty threads lately. I think it does give an awful impression of the site to newcomers, tbh

I think some people have lost the sight of the fact that this is supposed to be a parenting support network. Yes there can be a lot little argumentative at times, but it would be a very boring place if we all agreed on everything. But when it degenerates into personal attacks on individual posters, it is no wonder people leave!

I want an answer (stomps her feet)!!!

slim22 · 13/10/2008 12:40

YANBU, I feel the same.

There are very few posts worth reading these days (am basically a lurker)
Well, there was a very good mary poppins thread yesterday and a few weeks back the one about classical music arrangements for pass the parcel was a classic.

The "from our own correspondent" is quite good too.

I do miss the "clique" posts. They were/are funny and intelligent people unlike most newcomers.

CountessDracula · 13/10/2008 12:41

tutter gone???

when?
