YANBU enjoy your day

ReallyTired · 30/08/2008 17:05

What stage are you in pregnancy? Do you have any major complications?

Only you know yourself if you are taking advantage of your situation.

I'm pregnant as well and I feel absolutely fine. However I am sure that in 8 months time I will feel like a beached whale.

god no
rest
not an illness but you do need extra rest to remain as well as possible in pg

chapstickchick · 30/08/2008 17:10

i personally wouldnt want to waste a day -unless your ill you should be up imo.

Anna8888 · 30/08/2008 17:12

YANBU if you are very tired.

I went to bed for an hour and a half this afternoon while my partner took the children out to play. I'm knackered after a week of very intensive shopping for new school kit

PoorOldEnid · 30/08/2008 17:14

I would never spend the day in bed pg or not

mind you I am Driven

if your dh has worked all week and you have not then YABVU

FrannyandZooey · 30/08/2008 17:16

what, because working is automatically much harder than looking after young children, and being pg?

I don't agree with that...

PoorOldEnid · 30/08/2008 17:17

hmmm

I managed to spend a lot of the day vegging when I was pg with baby number 3

hollyandnoah · 30/08/2008 17:17

no! yanbu, stay there! We all neet duvet days

PoorOldEnid · 30/08/2008 17:17

tbh I would rather lay in the garden and be with the kids or lay on the sofa and watch tv with them than be slobbing in bed

Anna8888 · 30/08/2008 17:19

I made sure I changed the sheets on my bed this morning in anticipation of this afternoon's siesta

And I have a gorgeous new goose down duvet and pillows... had it all to myself for the first time

Anna are you french?

I think you should rest if you really need to. Am jealous as I got no rest at all when preggers.

Anna8888 · 30/08/2008 17:28

No, I just live in France

cornsilk · 30/08/2008 17:40

Just being nosey!

belgo · 30/08/2008 17:49

agree with kama, it's not a competition, and if you are really tired, you shouldn't have to justify why, especially not to us lot!

No point in being a martyr if it's avoidable.

highschoolmusical · 30/08/2008 17:55

"if your dh has worked all week and you have not then YABVU "

Thank you for your opinion - but ahem, I have been looking after my other 2 children all week which IS work!

Thank you ladies for your opinions. TBH have been with kids all week so is nice having a break in bed - way from them.

If you are tired there is nothing wrong with going to bed in the day, pg or not.

I didn't realise it was such a MN crime

ReallyTired · 30/08/2008 18:14

highschoolmusical,
How many weeks are you? Anyway every pregnancy is different.

With my first pregnancy I had morning sickness from hell. I had a really evil human resources woman telling that morning sickness did not exist as she had never experienced it.

[fingers cross icon] I haven't yet experienced any really bad morning sickness. Infact I feel nervious as its unbelievable that its possible to be pregnant without vomiting 10 times a day.

Infact it makes me fearful that I am going to have a miscarriage as the worst symptom I have experienced is my breasts growing and a weird taste in my mouth. I don't feel properly pregnant.

highschoolmusical · 30/08/2008 18:38

RT,

I am nearly 12 weeks. I have been feeling very ill, sick and really exhausted.
With DD no1, nothing until 2nd trimester then I was so exhausted I was signed off work at 24 weeks. With 2nd dd I was pretty ok - tired but not too bad, small amount of sickness.
I don't sleep well at the best of times but pregnancy really effect my getting off to sleep.
TBH, I would'nt worry(hard I know) as you said all pregnancies are different.
I'm also trying to take it easy when I can as I have lost 4 pregnancies so this is a crucial time.

God people here are so bloody unforgiving and unsympathetic! christ has every day got to be constructive??
Its important for your physical and mental health to take a step back when you need to. We all know how full on motherhood is without the added pressure of being pregnant on top of that.
There will always be someone with more kids who never has a bed day, ill or not, the world is full of martyrs and that is their choice but I personally think life is too short and you can burn yourself out this way.
THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH STAYING IN BED ALL DAY IF YOU FEEL ROUGH, ILL OR BECAUSE YOUR BODY JUST TELLS YOU THAT YOU NEED TO.
Its up to your dh if he chooses to do diy and look after kids, talk about make life difficult! very honourable though!
I really can't believe the complete lack of solidarity on here though. Miserable cows!!!
