Thats it really. We were away for the first 2 weeks. She has had them for 3 weeks and only has this week to go then she has a week off which is costing me a fortune to cover and then she has 3 days one week and 2 days the next and they are back to school.

Told me this am that she cant cope with having them 11 hors a day in the hols its just too exhausting and she spent all weekend in bed feeling poorly with the stress of it all.

She gets paid full time wages all year rund and has lots of perks ( and I maen lots ).

She seemed to be suggesting that they could go to holiday club so she could get on with some studying during the day!!!

I was so gobsmacked I just left and acme to work!

To be honest Im not expecting to get any replies to this as you will I am sure be too shocked to type!

that is shite

moondog · 11/08/2008 13:24

How many kids?
How old?
How much do you pay her?

melpomene · 11/08/2008 13:25

YANBU (unless you have 2 year old sextuplets)

ComeOVeneer · 11/08/2008 13:25

She wants you to pay her and pay for summer camp so she can (be paid to) study! No wonder you are shocked!

TotalChaos · 11/08/2008 13:25

. when I first read your title I assumed you meant it was your elderly granma who was struggling! sounds like she's not exactly suited to the job does it...

CountessDracula · 11/08/2008 13:25

hey moondog
are you having fun
(sorry for hijack)

Fancy a swap again Oct h/t? Or will you be there again?

ThatBigGermanPrison · 11/08/2008 13:26

Goodness me, is she getting proper nanny wage? I'd suggest she spends her time at the weekend relaxing positively instead of wallowing in bed. You're a mum, not her mum.

sitdownpleasegeorge · 11/08/2008 13:26

impossible to answer without knowing how many kids and what ages.

demandingboss · 11/08/2008 13:26

Yes CD. Tis wonderful Housekeeper rustling up dinner as I speak.
Not sure of dh's time off. Will discuss v soon.

ilovemydog · 11/08/2008 13:27

keep me in mind if a vacancy arises!

No, you are not being unreasonable!

Soapbox · 11/08/2008 13:27

Go back to her - the sooner the better - and tell her that what she is doing is what you contracted her to do. If she can't fulfil the contract then you will find someone who can.

moondog · 11/08/2008 13:28

Hmm, she istaking piss yes.
Study for what???

ThatBigGermanPrison · 11/08/2008 13:28

Find a replacement. You''ll probably get one if you ask on here! She sounds crap.

onepieceoflollipop · 11/08/2008 13:28

Has she been previously able to "cope" during holiday periods?

CarGirl · 11/08/2008 13:28

2 children!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's having a laugh unless she is very inexperienced. Yes exhausting (well if they're bickering all the time it is mentally very wearing) but it's her job for which I think she seems well paid!

JuneBugJen · 11/08/2008 13:29

agree with soapy. Its not like you are as large as the von trapp family. She should be able to cope with 2 at that age as a nanny.

ilovemydog · 11/08/2008 13:29

moondog - you should start the 'what's for dinner thread' - I always look to see what delightful meal you've had...

kikid · 11/08/2008 13:29

Get another nanny, shes rubbish!

2 school age kids , tis a doddle!

hertsnessex · 11/08/2008 13:29

she is really taking the p*ss. id look for another nanny.

elkiedee · 11/08/2008 13:30

That doesn't sound that hard, particularly for someone who has chosen to work as a nanny. Yes, I'm sure it's harder work than in term time, but she could have planned things to do.

demandingboss · 11/08/2008 13:30

she has 20 years experience. DS can be a little challenging at times but I think its becuase he is bored.

But then arent I paying her to deal with that ?

OP posts:
moondog · 11/08/2008 13:30

Sorry....CD have you been to Maine yet?

bythepowerofgreyskull · 11/08/2008 13:31

20 years experience and she can't deal with your children?? I think that she is taking the piss
