At what age did you stop holding your DS's hand

DS is 5 and very much a mummy's boy (not going to lie secretly.love it, he's my last which I am happy about as have 2 and know how lucky I am and juat have no desire to do the new orn phase again)

He still wants to hold my hand. All the time. Walking to school. Out shopping etc.

Dh hates it and constantly tells me to let go.

Today we have come away on holiday and were walking through the airport, I had a suitcase in one hand and DS's hand in the other and DH went mad telling me to let go and stop treating him like a child (even though he is one)

I argued its a busy foreign airport so would rather he held.my hand and was met with moaning by dh about how i treated him like a much you get child etc etc

For reference, dd is 10 and would still happily hold my hand if dh didn't moan at us both about that as well

Your husband is wildly unreasonable. Is he the type that thinks boys don't cry, too? Toughen up, little man? Really grim.

My son still holds my hand sometimes. He's 18. At 5 he was DEFINITELY always holding my hand. I used to help out at school discos and at ages 6, 7 and 8, the kids were all fighting to hold my hand and he'd march in and be like, "She's MY Mum, she loves ME the best and I'M HOLDING HER HAND!"

This is very age typical behaviour.

Also. Adults hold hands. I hold hands with my husband. I hold hands with my mum. I've held hands with my best friend walking through Barcelona.

What the hell is wrong with your husband?! Holding hands isn't just a safety thing. It's an affection thing. A loving thing.

Is he not an affectionate, loving man?

Hold your son AND your daughter's hands and if he says anything, tell him to shut the fuck up and keep his nose out of your loving, affectionate relationship with them. Seriously. It's controlling behaviour. Does he control anything else? I'm really hoping that this is a weird anomaly of his.
