So I had toothache in one tooth. Thinking it was grinding I got a home tooth guard. Completly messed up the moulding process somehow but continued to push it up in to my teeth an bite down thinking it would work. Didn’t work for did process again.. same thing. Basically bit down into hard plastic! Now I’ve hurt my front teeth along with others hope they are just bruised but at this point I think it may be worse a need to see a dentist! Oh and the other tooth still hurts! Don’t know why I continued to do that or what the hell I was thinking but yes so so so stupid! The please tell me the most stupid things you’ve done to make me feel slightly better?

Simple act of zipping up a pair of tight jeans. As I pulled upwards, I ripped the muscles in the back of my neck from skull down and over both shoulders. I was out of action for 2 weeks. Couldn't even drive.

I broke my foot mountain climbing. Which doesnt sound sillly...

Until the full story. We had climbedthe mountain. Came back down. 100m at most from car park. I put my left foot down a rabbit hole tripping... and landed awkwardly on my right foot, breaking it.

We could see the minibus.

I cycled into the side of a ford transit van, went over the top of it and broke my collar bone, the day before my GCSE's started. Luckily not my writing arm, but I had to call a teacher over every time I needed to hold a ruler for the first couple of weeks afterwards.

The stupid bit, the van was stationary at the time.

Dd was playing with pots and pans at the bottom of the stairs

Said id clear them up in the morning

Came down the next morning, kicked one and broke a toe 🙃

Go to the dentist op, tooth pain isnt worth it 🩷

CherryKerry · 23/10/2026 12:34

Nearly amputated my hand with a bread knife during the post alcohol munchies phase.

A pair of joggers are named the death trousers in my house, they are fairly long with flared legs. They are called this, because I was walking across my kitchen, my foot caught the bottom and I fell over, it all happened so quickly I couldn't brace myself in any way.....and broke 2 ribs 😎

Maddy70 · 23/10/2026 12:35

I slipped on a lemon and broke my leg

theemmadilemma · 23/10/2026 12:36

Had the dog asleep on my legs, went to get up not realising my ankle was dead and rolled it badly enough to break the ligament. 😫

CoolPlayer · 23/10/2026 12:37

I fell over the knee-high sign warning of a wet floor!

Whosthetabbynow · 23/10/2026 12:41

Drank two bottles of Prosecco, fell over and trapped my leg under me. Ripped all the muscles in my back and leg. Was laid up for 4 months. I’d never touch the stuff again.

murasaki · 23/10/2026 12:43

Broke my wrist rolling off a futon. I was all of 6 inches off the ground if that. 8 weeks in plaster, and it was my left hand. I'm left handed.

TruJay · 23/10/2026 12:43

In the bathroom of my childhood home, we had a mirror above the sink and it was opposite the toilet so when I wanted to look at my outfit full length, I’d stand on the toilet to do so. One day the toilet seat suddenly just slipped sideways and I went crashing down, my little finger slid along the edge of the toilet seat and it slit straight open! There was so much blood and the neighbour had to help and pressed on a bit of my arm further up to stop the bleeding.

I have a big scar and was so embarrassed telling people how I did it. I didn’t learn my lesson either as I still stood on there a few times after that day!!!

Changing the bag in the big kitchen pedal bin I staggered, trod on the pedal, the lid shot up and hit me in the face, I staggered again and the bin tipped over. I ended up with one leg inside it and a nasty scratch on my inner thigh.

TigerRag · 23/10/2026 12:47

Got out of a lift and walked straight into a clear door....I walked into the same door and hour later

omghereistrouble · 23/10/2026 12:48

broke three toes falling out of bed; there may have been alcohol involved!!!

murasaki · 23/10/2026 12:52

Bruised my coccyx carrying the laundry basket downstairs. Trod on my too long pj bottoms, slid down the stairs on my arse and arrived at the bottom in excruciating pain and a pile of my own dirty clothes. In front of my housemates.

Blueskies121 · 23/10/2026 12:52

In my twenties I gave myself a black eye which still makes me chuckle now. I was carrying a large empty light weight plastic plant pot across the grass and stepped awkwardly turning my ankle. I lost my balance and as I fell I instinctively raised my arms to protect my face....smacking myself in the face with the plant pot. Ankle was fine though.

TwinklyAmberSloth · 23/10/2026 12:53

I broke my toe playing the piano.

I was sitting with my legs tucked behind the piano stool, then moved/shuffled the stool backwards a bit to get more comfortable and somehow put the stool down onto my toe whilst sitting down on it.

  1. Cutting into a block of frozen cheese, sliced through the top of my thumb. Drove to hospital, 6 stitches, went home looking forward to some cheese, only to find the bloody dogs had eaten it all!
  2. Fell over electric horse tapes. Didn't try to save myself as I was holding empty plastic feed buckets (obvs more valuable than me!). Rotor cuff injury that took months to recover.
Hadroncollideer · 23/10/2026 12:54

Attempted a forward roll after a glass or 2 of vino. Injured shoulder 😪. Not as easy as when I was 7.

PurpleLovecats · 23/10/2026 12:55

I used my finger to unblock the jammed blender without switching it off…

glendabrownlow · 23/10/2026 12:55

Ouch! to all the posts on here.

I was making my bed, I tucked the bottom sheet with my hands between the mattress and bed frame.... and bent back every fingernail the wrong way by mistake, braking them off below the quick.

Spidey66 · 23/10/2026 12:56

I coughed, and did my back in for a month. I didn't have a cold or anything, so it wasn't loads of coughing or a coughing fit. Just one cough.
I ended up on dihydrocodeine and spent £££ on a chiropractor to fix it.

I once broke my toe by catching it on the coffee table leg.

Member984815 · 23/10/2026 12:57

Lifted something I'd no business lifting but had done dozens of times before . I was fine the day of, no sign of the injury woke up next day in agony and suffered for weeks with it.
