You’re not going to want to listen to me, but you must.

Please take your bag of salt and vinegar crisps and put them in the freezer for a few hours.

Enjoy a bowl of them straight from the freezer.

Please report back with your findings.

Wow I think I have only ever had frozen tangerines straight from the freezer. Will try this

TotHappy · 13/10/2026 13:41

Do we think it would work with sweet chilli crisps?

TotHappy · 13/10/2026 13:41

FROZEN TANGERINES?!

I don't get why people like any chocolate from the fridge, unless you have to put it there when it's warm, it just impairs the flavour for me.

I always put my bar of lindt 80% in the fridge. I just like it really crunchy, then i let all the little shards melt in my mouth and the flavor develops. It also stops me from eating it too fast 😅

I also like eating peanut m&ms from the fridge - super crispy! Warm m&ms are so disappointing.

Oh bugles! My favourite! Discovering they had made it to the UK was a very happy day... I'm still hoping Pepernoten arrive some day!!

We travel regularly between Belgium and the Netherlands. All things peanut are always on our list. Plus at Sinterklaas, pepernoten, roomboterstaaf, chocolate letters, decent stroopwafels.

Off to the UK tomorrow - our closest shop is a Coop and I love salt and vinegar crisps so I’ll be trying this tomorrow! Anyone got any results yet?

whackwhackoops · 13/10/2026 13:46

right my S&V McCoys are going in!

KoiTetra · 13/10/2026 13:47

Chasingsquirrels · 13/10/2026 12:48

And now I'm eating them!

These and coop S&V crisps are both top tier!!

My husband has just asked if cheese and onion are enhanced from a stint in the freezer 😂

That was my next question ? What about prawn cocktail - my absolute favourites ?

BloodyHellBob · 13/10/2026 13:50

I only have Worcestershire sauce flavour but I’m nothing if not a daredevil, so they’re in the freezer! I’ve even set a reminder for 2 hours 😂

I put my peanuts M&M’s in the fridge too, but then I undo al the good work by letting the chocolate melt before I crunch the peanut !! It’s a satisfying sensory experience, as is crispy M&M’s sprinkled on an ice cream cone. OMG just drooled on the keyboard !!

I’m off crisps right now so none in the house, but waiting to see what people think.

I hope it’s better than mini eggs in the microwave

I love frozen Snickers

But how do you slice it ? Mine come out solid.

IKR…You just gnaw on it like a savage eating a turkey leg

ShutupLwren · 13/10/2026 13:54

On a never ending diet, so I’m looking forward to destroying it with frozen s&v crisps this evening

So annoying to only see this thread after going shopping!

Mars Bars are always kept in the fridge in this house! Never frozen them though - must try it!

Milky ways are the king of frozen chocolates

Walkers S&V and an experimental bag of cheese and onion just gone in. Timer set. Will report back.

Totally agree. There’s something about the mousse like texture that lends itself really well to freezing.

Yeah and still remains chewable.

But don’t try it with a flake (explodes when you bite) or a curly whirly (chocolate cracks and crumbles on you while you try to get through the caramel/toffee)

I knew someone who did this in the pub, peanuts in a bag of crisps, scrunched them, and called it bombay mix 😅

We have recently discovered the joy of this but with mini cheddar (original flavour) and cashew nuts 😋

I will give it a go.

We've had chocolate digestives in the fridge but not the freezer. Going to give it a go - thanks

But you have to sandwich them in pairs before you put them in the freezer.

I needed a mid afternoon snack sooner than the two hours would allow. I did an hour and ten minutes and my feedback is that I'm a no on the Aldi S & V thick cut crisps.

But I like the stuff in my mouth and then swill with Lilt so the S & V fizzes and I get a Vinegary pineapple mulch if I suck the Lilt through the crisp snap.

This is the kind of content I need this afternoon.

JustMarriedBecca · 13/10/2026 14:05

I can recommend the Caramel McVitties Digestive as excellent when refrigerated or frozen and dunked in tea

RuinartRuination · 13/10/2026 14:06

StiffAsAVicar · 13/10/2026 12:45

Yes, these are verified to work 😌

Will S&V hula hoops work? I have a packet of those.

wakeboarder · 13/10/2026 14:07

So unfortunately due to time constraints we had to eat our cheese and onion and marmite crisps at 1hr and 45 mins so not sure if our feed back will be discounted. However can confirm both lots of crisps were definitely crispier although didn't notice and flavour enhancement. Sorry we failed on the 2 hours, but that only means one thing we will have to repeat the experiment at a later date
