You’re not going to want to listen to me, but you must.

Please take your bag of salt and vinegar crisps and put them in the freezer for a few hours.

Enjoy a bowl of them straight from the freezer.

Please report back with your findings.

Right. This had better be good. Bag in the freezer now.

I will give it a go.

I am already a member of this 'club'. 🤫

Only leave them in there for 2 hours!

So good right! Especially with the co-op chardonnay vinegar crisps 😯 so much crunch and zing!!

The 2 hour time is good to know, thank you for adding to the research 😌

So good! I have them as a treat! I find 2 hours is optimum. Leave them for days and it's not the same situation....

That's new! I do refrigerate the chocolate digestives - but never tried them frozen!

Is this so you can not only get mild chemical burns from the acetic acid but also cold burns at the same time ?

wakeboarder · 13/10/2026 12:05

My husband has just asked if cheese and onion are enhanced from a stint in the freezer 😂

This 2 hour only development is interesting! I’ve not noticed the difference but I will try them specifically at the 2 hour mark next. Thank you!!

Honestly it works with all crisp flavours imo, but i didn’t want to come in too strong, so I thought i’d start with a salt and vinegar soft launch as this gives the biggest enhancement.

Does it have to be normal crisps or does work with the maize things?

Perfect a bag of cheese and onion in the freezer for him along with a bag of marmite for me!

Honestly I think only the normal crisps, I fear the maize ones would become an odd textured mess but I haven’t specifically tried. If you are willing to take one for the team, id love to know your findings.

Has anyone tried it with the walkers square ones?

Lookatheskies · 13/10/2026 12:28

I am ill in bed and do not have crisps. Can someone explain in detail what this does please?

DeftGoldHedgehog · 13/10/2026 12:30

I don't get why people like any chocolate from the fridge, unless you have to put it there when it's warm, it just impairs the flavour for me.
