You’re not going to want to listen to me, but you must.

Please take your bag of salt and vinegar crisps and put them in the freezer for a few hours.

Enjoy a bowl of them straight from the freezer.

Please report back with your findings.

Honestly I think only the normal crisps, I fear the maize ones would become an odd textured mess but I haven’t specifically tried. If you are willing to take one for the team, id love to know your findings.

Will do!

I'm a lifelong Salt and vinegar lover, I chuck peanuts in the bag to live life on the edge 😂

Aldi do a salt & vinegar peanut pack.

Cookingdoesntgettougher · 13/10/2026 12:47

Don’t have any crisps atm but interested to hear the feedback

I am ill in bed and do not have crisps. Can someone explain in detail what this does please?

sorry to hear that, hope you feel better soon! It enhances them, a cool crisp crunch and extra zing. Please try once you are better 😊

How did you find this out? Did you all just wonder what happened and throw some in the freezer as an experiment?

I love crisps but have sensitive teeth so not sure how I’d get on with chewing something frozen

If you happen to pass a co-op on your travels, they do a chardonnay vinegar flavour which is my top recommendation for this.

Aldi do a salt & vinegar peanut pack.

And now I'm eating them!

This is brand new information!

Yiayoula · 13/10/2026 12:50

Exciting !
DH doesn’t care for salt and vinegar crisps
( grounds to LTB, I know) so currently experimenting with his favourite cheese and onion.

Frozen chocolate in any form is good.
Also frozen grapes .

My husband taught me this method and I haven’t looked back. Now you’ve got me wondering how he knew, I’ll inquire. 🤔 Yes sensitive teeth may not like this method sadly :-( maybe put a singular crisp in the freezer to test it out before committing to a whole pack.

Aldi do a salt & vinegar peanut pack.

I knew someone who did this in the pub, peanuts in a bag of crisps, scrunched them, and called it bombay mix 😅

InterestedDad37 · 13/10/2026 12:53

I've yet to experiment with the frozen crisp, but all 'bar' chocolate (Mars, Snickers, Rocky etc) go in the freezer 🍫 ❄️ 😋

Clevs · 13/10/2026 12:53

I’ve just had a pack of cheese Doritos with my lunch. But tomorrow I will have salt & vinegar and try this experiment. I have salt & vinegar Hula Hoops, Walkers and McCoys at my disposal - which will work best? (I’m thinking McCoys because they are the king of crisps anyway).

Dry roasted peanuts with S&V square crisps - food of the gods.

Excellent choice.

hula hoops are currently untested.
Walkers are tested and confirmed to work.
Mccoys untested but highly likely to work.

please let me know what you think 🤩

Next thing you know, there'll be Walkers dry roasted peanut flavour, just watch!

So good right! Especially with the co-op chardonnay vinegar crisps 😯 so much crunch and zing!!

The 2 hour time is good to know, thank you for adding to the research 😌

FFS make me spend more money on Deliveroo why don’t you??

(they’re arriving in 30mins so I’ll update with my view in approx 2.5hrs, if I can wait that long 👀)

This is very interesting! I will try….hope my filling doesn’t get stuck in the frozen snickers and pop out 😅

Well, this has livened up my day. We’ve been very impressed with ourselves for putting Twirls in the freezer lately, this is an exciting addition!

Im so glad! It’s certainly broadened my horizons too as I never considered freezing chocolate bars 🤔

I have been known to slice up a frozen Snickers and eat it slowly and delicately.

Sadly, currently have no crisps so can't join the experiment 😪

I hope you both like it!

oh yes, I fear I shall meet my maker via a frozen grape getting stuck, but they are sooo good!

Haven’t tried the freezer, but crisps from a cold vending machine always taste particularly good.

I know! These make the crisp/nut combo elite 👌
